A new study has revealed that guys with a shoe size of 10 or more is likely to be unfaithful compared to those with smaller size.

According to the study by Illicit Encounters, the larger a guy’s feet, the more likely he is to have an affair and that the most faithful men have a shoe size between a seven and a nine while the most adulterous have a ten or larger, the Daily Star reported.

Bizarre fossils identified as distant cousins of humans

Scientists have confirmed that some peculiar ancient fossils are actually distant relatives of humans.

According to the University of Adelaide researchers, the fossils belong to 500-million-year-old blind water creatures which had alien-like in appearance, known to scientists as “vetulicolians.”

More than 100 years since they were first discovered, these marine creatures were “filter-feeders” shaped like a figure-of-8.

IS retreating from Syrian town of Kobane: Kurdish official

A Kurdish official has reportedly said that the Islamic State (IS) militants are finally retreating from the Syrian town of Kobane following weeks of fighting.

Idriss Nassan said that the IS had lost control of more than 20 percent of the town in recent days, reported the BBC.

United States defence officials have claimed that hundreds of militants have been killed around Kobane as the coalition against IS intensified its air strikes in the town that is located on the Syrian-Turkish border.

Dutch motorbike gang ‘No Surrender’ joins Kurdish forces fighting IS in Iraq

Members of a Dutch motorcycle gang known as ” No Surrender” have joined Kurdish forces fighting against the Islamic State in Iraq.

According to FOX News, the leader of the gang, Klaas Otto, told state broadcaster NOS on Friday that three of its members have traveled to Mosul in Northern Iraq to take up the fight against IS.

A photo on a Dutch-Kurdish Twitter account showed a heavily-tattooed man dressed in military gear sitting next to a Kurdish fighter inside a bunker.

The caption with the photo read “Ron from The Netherlands has joined the Kurds to exterminate the rodents of IS”.

Orange and Mustard Salad

Ingredients

1. 6 oranges (or substitute the orange with 1 whole pineapple, peeled, cored and cut into 1-inch pieces)
2. 1/2 tsp salt
3. 1tsp brown sugar
4. 1tsp vegetable oil
5. 1tsp red mustard seeds
6. 1tsp wholegrain mustard
7. 1 dried red Kashmiri chilli, soaked in hot water and de-seeded
8. 1/4 tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
9. 2tbsp lime juice
10.2tbsp grated fresh coconut

Method:

1. Peel the oranges and divide them into segments removing the skin of each segment. This may seem like a laborious task, but is worth it.

Easy Chicken with a Twist

Ingredients

1. 1 kg chicken
2. 1 packet readymade chicken curry masala
3. 1/2 small papaya
4. 200 ml thin coconut milk
5. 2 Tbsp peanut butter
6. 3 spring onions, finely chopped
7. Salt to taste

Method:

1/ Churn the papaya in the mixie with the coconut milk, peanut butter and readymade masala.
2/ Pour the mix over the chicken and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
3/ Put into a deep pan, cover and cook on simmer for 45 minutes. The oil from the masala, coconut milk and peanut butter should come to the top.
4/ Garnish with spring onions.
5/ Serve with wholewheat bread.

Google Nexus 6, 9 may hit India as early as November

Google may launch its latest devices – Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 – in the domestic market as early as November along with the United States and other developed markets, signalling the growing importance of the Indian sub-continent for the search giant.

Google has announced the new devices a day ahead of rival Apple, which is hosting a conference on October 16. Reports suggest that the Cupertino-based firm could unveil its latest iPad.

The Nexus 6 smartphone has been developed by Motorola and will be available for pre-order in late October and in stores in November.

If true, exit-polls indicate anti-incumbency was strong: NCP

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar on Thursday said if the exit poll predictions indeed turn out to be correct then it shows that anti-incumbency in Maharashtra was strong although not very visible.

“If exit polls are to be believed then it will be a challenge for the opposition and needs to be looked in to in order to make it strong. In a democracy it is important that there should be an opposition in a democracy. It shows that anti-incumbency was strong but wasn’t very visible,” Anwar told ANI here.

He also dismissed any suggestion of the NCP allying with the BJP.

7 held for attacking 2 persons on poll eve

Seven persons from a village here were arrested for allegedly attacking two persons on the eve of Maharashtra Assembly elections, police said today.

The accused, led by Ramchandara Velhe (60), attacked the duo who had come to Sarangpur village with swords, sickle and iron rods on the night of October 14, as they suspected that the two had come to disrupt the electioneering process, Khinavali police station sub-inspector Nandkumar Bhoir said.

The accused were later arrested and booked under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and relevant sections of Bombay Police Act, he said.

Taking a bold stand in the fight against breast cancer, online lingerie store Zivame.com has announced that it will get a 1,000 women from country’s rural areas screened for breast and cervical cancer.

Zivame.com has tied up with Bangalore-based NGO Milaap to take the initiative forward, and is also working with Gramalaya Microfin Foundation and Harshamitra Women Screening Wing to set up several medical camps across Trichy district.

The company is also raising awareness among general public about breast cancer through e-mailers and social media, said a statement.

Deepika keen to feature in French, Iranian films

Deepika Padukone is ready to work in films beyond Bollywood, but she is not gunning for Hollywood. The versatile Indian actress is instead, keen to do a French or Iranian film, and she has even identified directors she would like to work with.

“I think French cinema is as beautiful as Indian cinema and like I said before, I don’t think the medium matters as much as the story and the script. If I find something exciting, I would do it,” the 28-year-old said here Wednesday at the 16th Mumbai Film Festival.

Taliban militants killed in Afghan drone attack

At least 15 Taliban militants were killed in a drone attack by the US-led coalition forces on a militant hideout in Afghanistan, media reported Thursday.

“A drone attack was conducted by a coalition forces in Loka Sang area in Obe district of Herat province at around midnight. Up to 15 militants, including a senior Taliban leader named Abdul Rahman Maldar, were killed,” Xinhua reported citing the spokesman of the Afghan Army Corps, Najebullah Najebi.

Villagers pelt stones, open fire at police; 2 injured

Two security personnel were injured when villagers here allegedly opened fire and pelted stones at a police team which had gone to arrest 20 persons accused in Phugana gangrape cases during Muzaffarnagar riots, police said today.

The incident took place in Phugana village yesterday, after the villagers opposed the arrest of 20 accused in the five gangrape cases which took place during the riots, Superintendent of Police Rural, Alok Piryadarshi said.

The irate mob pelted stones and opened fire at the police in which policeman Amar Singh and home guard Abul were injured, the SP said.

The parents of the 22-year-old Meerut woman, threatened her with dire consequences as the girl had retracted her earlier allegations of gang-rape and forcible conversion, told:

“We never tried to politicize the matter. Ever since the issue was first brought to light on August 3, political parties started approaching us. She is an adult, free to marry Kaleem. It may be a case of love jihad, but if she is happy that way, she can marry him.”

The girl’s father, a farmer by profession, states that he had no intention to draw any media hype to his daughter’s affairs.

Azam Khan denies sting claim over Muzaffarnagar riots

Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Azam Khan has denied having called up any official before the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots broke out, as accused by a television channel in a sting operation.

Appearing before a committee set up by the state assembly in the aftermath of the claim in a sting operation that the riots took place after Azam Khan asked police officials not to act against two Muslim men accused of killing two Hindu men when they protested their sister’s molestation.

Sources said the senior Samajwadi Party leader recorded his statement before the committee Wednesday.

Sensex trading flat at 28.24 points; auto stocks gain

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Thursday was trading flat at 28.24 points or 0.11 percent up as auto stocks gained.

Good buying was observed in auto and IT sectors, while selling pressure was seen in oil and gas and capital goods sectors.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 26,260.35 points, was trading at 26,377.57 points (at 09.22 a.m.) in the early session, up 28.24 points or 0.11 percent from the previous day’s close at 26,349.33 points.

Govt mulls 33% reservation for women in Delhi Police, all UTs

In its effort to deploy more women in law-and-order duties, the government is planning to reserve 33 per cent jobs in Delhi Police and police forces of all Union Territories.

A note in this effect is being prepared by the Home Ministry and is expected to be presented before the Union Cabinet for its approval soon, highly-placed sources told PTI tonight.

This is seen as the first step of the NDA government to give more representation to women in police forces across the country, particularly in duties to check crime against women.

First ‘Uranus-like’ planet discovered in another solar system

Astronomers recently found an “ice giant” planet in another solar system 25,000 light-years away that resembles like Earth’s Uranus for the first time ever.

Astronomers have discovered hundreds of planets around the Milky Way, including rocky planets similar to Earth and gas planets similar to Jupiter. But there is a third type of planet in our solar system; part gas, part ice and this was the first time anyone has spotted a twin for our so-called “ice giant” planets, Uranus and Neptune.

US man claims to have sex with 700 cars

Toyota launches updated versions of Etios, Liva

Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Tuesday launched updated versions of its sedan Etios and hatchback Etios Liva.

The petrol variants of the Etios are available for Rs 5,74,081 and Rs 7,06,567, while the diesel variants of the sedan are priced at Rs 6,84,081 and Rs 8,16,567 respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).

Further, petrol versions of Etios Liva would retail at Rs 4,76,142 and Rs 6,57,105, while the diesel variants of the hatchback would cost Rs 5,94,642 and Rs 6,95,460 respectively.
