Sana, Ismail released on bail in assault case

Actress Sana Khan and her boyfriend Ismail Khan, who were arrested over an assault case here, have been granted bail, said a police official.

They were arrested Wednesday by officials of the Amboli police station here, and were granted bail the same day.

“Sana and Ismail were arrested on Wednesday morning and were taken to the Andheri court. Later, they got bail the very same day. Now, we are collecting some more evidences on this case,” an official from the police station told IANS.

Navy SEAL who killed Bin Laden to reveal his identity

A former member of the US’s elite Navy SEALs who killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden will reveal his identity in a documentary to be shown next month on the Fox News channel, the company has announced.

In a statement Wednesday, Fox News said the two-hour documentary, titled “The Man Who Killed Osama bin Laden” would be broadcast in two parts Nov 11 and 12 and includes an interview with the ex-commando.

He was part of the Navy SEAL’s special team which executed the raid to kill the terrorist mastermind in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in May 2011.

Shrien Dewani gets teary eyed on fourth wedding anniversary

British Indian businessman Shrien Dewani reportedly got teary-eyed as he spend his fourth wedding anniversary in the Western Cape High Court standing trial for his wife Anni’s murder.

According to News 24, CCTV footage of him and his wife Anni presented in the court on Wednesday appeared to show two different sides to their relationship.

The first footage showed Dewani and Anni Hindocha entering a Strand mall to dine at a restaurant. The body language of the newlyweds gave the impression that all was not well between the pair.

Delhi government formation: Supreme Court finds LG Najeeb Jung’s efforts positive; adjourns hearing till November 11

The Supreme Court on Thursday expressed satisfaction over Lt Governor Najeeb Jung’s recent moves to explore the possibility of government formation in Delhi and said that he should be given more time as “there could be a minority government with outside support”.

Referring to recent media reports, a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu said, “Whatever I have read in newspapers, it appears that the LG has made positive moves.”

Yasin Malik arrested in Srinagar

Separatist leader Muhammad Yasin Malik, who has called for a boycott of the coming Jammu and Kashmir elections, was on Thursday taken into preventive custody here.

This was done to maintain law and order in the city, a police officer said.

Malik, chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), said that police reached his uptown Abi Guzar office in the morning and seized him. He said some other JKLF leaders were also arrested.

A brother recently advertised for her sister Sammy Maalen on eBay to help her find true love, after she proved unlucky in love every time.

The 28-year-old brother Kyle Maalen listed her sister on the internet auction site under the heading “Date my sister, 27” with a starting bid of 50 pounds, the Daily Star reported.

Kyle has described Sammy as slim and curvy, 5ft 4in, blue eyes, dark hair, very bubbly and outgoing and looking for a “genuine” guy aged 27-35.

Sensex hits record-high on economic reforms

The benchmark BSE Sensex hit a record-high by soaring 260.68 points to 27,358.85 during mid-session trade today on increased buying by investors as the recent economic reforms have instilled confidence that the country can better withstand potential rate hikes in the US. The Sensex shot up by 260.68 points, or 0.96%, to hit an all-time high of 27,358.85, surpassing its previous record of 27,354.99 touched on September 8.

Sensex surges 171 points; IT stocks gain

Rajasthan High Court grants interim bail to minister Babulal Nagar in rape case

Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday granted interim bail till November 6 to former Rajasthan minister Babulal Nagar, who was in jail for allegedly raping a married woman.

The bail was granted as Nagar’s daughter is getting married on November 3.

Nagar (53) has been accused of raping the woman at his residence on September 11 last year on the pretext of giving her a government job.

Nagar resigned from the Cabinet two days after the FIR was registered against him on September 17.
