Shyam Saran Negi, 97, the first voter of independent India, kept his date with the ballot again when he exercised his franchise at Kalpa polling station, 10,500 feet above sea level in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh.

The weak old man voiced the apprehension that it may be the last time he votes, given his infirmity.

Negi, will be 98 on July 1, received a red-carpet welcome at Kalpa which is part of Mandi Lok Sabha seat.

Snaps all ties with BPF if allegation proved to be factual: Assam CM

Evelyn Sharma faces harassment in hometown

Actress Evelyn Sharma, who is currently in her hometown Frankfurt, Germany, says she was harassed by a group of boys during her visit. She says she was surprised and shocked.

“It’s has been one of the most shocking incidents in my life so far, especially because this happened back home in Frankfurt,” Evelyn said in a statement.

“It’s a little shameful that this happened in broad daylight, but luckily I could get out of there before things went completely out of control,” she added.

• 1/2 Cup toasted almonds
• 50 gm Dark chocolate

• 1/2 Cup glace fruit, chopped

• Soften the ice-cream and combine the almond essence with it.
• Line the base and sides of 1 litre pudding basin leaving a cavity in the centre for the fruit mixture.
• Freeze till firm.
• Whip cream and sugar together till the peaks form.
• Now chop chocolate and almonds.

BJP has proved that it does not respect constitutional bodies: Congress

Commenting on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) decision to stage a protest against the Election Commission in Varanasi and Delhi, the Congress on Thursday said the former has proved that it does not respect constitutional bodies.

“This protest is a part of their strategy which included violating the model code of conduct. The BJP is proving again that it does not respect constitutional bodies,” said Congress spokesman Meem Afzal.

New Delhi has dirtiest air among 1600 cities: WHO

World Health Organisation has revealed that New Delhi is the most polluted city in the world.

The international organization, which measured pollution in cities around the world, found that Beijing’s pollution measurements is far more less than that of New Delhi, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Thirteen of the dirtiest 20 cities were Indian, which included New Delhi, Patna, Gwalior and Raipur in the top four spots, while the Indian capital had an annual average of 153 micrograms of small particulates, known as PM2.5, per cubic metre.

1 green chili (chopped)

1 tbsp corn flour / corn starch
1 egg (beaten)
1 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
1 lemon juice
Breadcrumbs for coating
12 pieces of liver (fried) for garnishing

Procedure:

Heat the oil / ghee in a frying pan and fry the onions till golden.

Newly found dinosaur that walked Earth 66m yrs ago was T rex’s long-nosed cousin

Researchers have found a new species of long-snouted tyrannosaur, nicknamed Pinocchio rex, which stalked the Earth more than 66 million years ago.

Researchers say the animal, which belonged to the same dinosaur family as Tyrannosaurus rex, was a fearsome carnivore that lived in Asia during the late Cretaceous period.

The newly found ancient predator looked very different from most other tyrannosaurs. It had an elongated skull and long, narrow teeth compared with the deeper, more powerful jaws and thick teeth of a conventional T. rex.

Toyota Motor launches cross-over Etios

Indo-Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota Kirloskar Motor Wednesday launched Etios Cross — its first cross-over between a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and a hatchback — priced between Rs.5.76 lakh and Rs.7.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Election Commission surprised, disappointed over BJP decision to hold protests

The Election Commission tonight expressed “surprise” and “disappointment” over BJP’s decision to hold protests against denial of permission to Narendra Modi for his programmes in Varanasi tomorrow.

In a letter to BJP leader Arun Jaitley, the EC said the protests were announced despite the poll body trying to resolve the matter “in accordance with law and the ground situation”.

When Halima Khatun jumped into the Beki river with her five-month-old child to save his life from terrorists, she never thought it was the last time she was holding her child.

“Everywhere there was sound of firing. Some people who ran towards the forest guards’ post were also fired by them.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday took to twitter to express his disappointment over being denied permission for holding a rally in Varanasi.

“It is unfortunate that EC is not concerned about the institution’s neutrality and that is why our Karyakartas have to embark on a Satyagraha,” Modi tweeted earlier in the morning.

BJP protests in Varanasi over poll panel’s decision

BJP workers Thursday took to roads in Varanasi and protested the Election Commission’s decision to deny its prime ministerial hopeful Narendra Modi permission to hold rallies in the city.

The party announced that all scheduled programmes of Modi for the day have been cancelled except for one rally. Modi is expected to address a public meeting in Rohaniya assembly constituency.

The district administration had initially denied permission for all programmes, including a rally at Beniabagh. In a decision late Wednesday, it allowed Modi to hold some of the programmes.
