Mumbai, June 3 (ANI): Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Awadhut Wagh on Tuesday said the death of Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde’s death might be a planned conspiracy, and demanded a CBI probe in the matter.
The Government has decided that the National flag will be flown at half mast today in Delhi and capitals of the states and union territories as a mark of respect to Union Minister Gopinath Munde, who passed away here this morning.
A statement issued by Home Ministry said that the national flag will also be flown at half mast tomorrow at the place of cremation.
Munde died here this morning in a road accident. 64-year-old Munde was on his way to airport when his car was hit by another vehicle at around 6:30 a.m. (ANI)

Aiming to make its presence felt in the Rs 6,500 crore branded curry masala market in India, the Kerala-based spice major Synthite has launched 10 curry masalas and spice powders under the brand name ‘Kitchen Treasures’.
These include chicken and fish masalas besides six basic spice powders, chilli, turmeric and coriander, among others.
The company is targetting a market share of about Rs 30 crore in the first year, Synthite MD George Paul told reporters here last night.

A new study has revealed that hurricanes with feminine names are likely to cause significantly more deaths than hurricanes with masculine names, apparently because storms with feminine names are perceived as less threatening.
According to the research by University of Illinois, severe hurricanes with a more feminine name result in a greater death toll, simply because a storm with a feminine name is seen as less foreboding than one with a more masculine name.

iPhone maker, Apple has reportedly announced HomeKit functionality for iOS 8, which lets users manage their home automation devices.
The HomeKit lets users manage their home automation devices, so that one can lock doors, dim lights, and adjust their thermostat from their iPhone or iPad.
According to CNET, on Monday the company announced that it has added functionality in its upcoming release of iOS 8, through the HomeKit software platform, to integrate control for door locking, light dimming, and other home automation gadgets and features to iOS devices.
Apple has reportedly announced a new feature called QuickType to iOS 8, which will offer predictive suggestions as users type their text messages.

The internet based chat application Whatsapp has launched its update for Windows today which includes better privacy settings, customizable interface and notification tones.

A police constable opened fire in the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) here and critically injured four of his family, an officer said Tuesday.

Karnataka government will enact a new legislation to punish bogus ration card holders, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dinesh Gundurao said on Monday.
“On the instruction of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, we are enacting a legislaton to punish fake ration card holders to implement Anna Bhagya (scheme to provide rice at Re 1 a kg to the poor) without any obstacles,” he told reporters here.
No leniency would be shown after the initiation of the process of filing criminal cases against the bogus ration card holders, the minister said.

New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday approved a 10 percent hike in land allotment rates in their board meeting.

The driver whose car rammed into Gopinath Munde’s car, killing the union minister, has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
Gurvinder Singh, who was driving the car, was arrested from the spot.
Singh, 32, was driving his personal Tata Indica car, which rammed into the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader’s Maruti Suzuki SX4 on the side he was sitting, police said.
“We are investigating whether he (Singh) jumped the red light in the morning,” Delhi Police Joint Commissioner M.K. Meena told IANS.
