A new survey by budget airline EasyJet has revealed that customers in Europe prefer booking 7F as it is typically cheap row and closest to right-hand window.

According to the airline, nationality, age and travel companion all influence the cabin position of choice and window seats are generally the most desirable, with 59 percent preferring to gaze out in the sky, CNN news reported.

Peter Duffy, group commercial director for EasyJet, said that the window versus aisle debate is one of the most frequently overheard conversations while flying.

FiveThirtyEight’s Mona Chalabi analyzed Indiana University’s National Survey Of Sexual Health And Behavior (NSSHB) to create an infographic illustrating how often men and women masturbate according to age.

The NSSHB collected data from 5,865 Americans between the ages of 14 and 94 between March and May 2009, the Huffington Post reported.

Skipping breakfast does not influence weight loss or weight gain: Study

A new research from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) has found that regularly skipping breakfast did not influence weight loss or weight gain in a group of study participants.

According to Medical News Today, the study followed 309 otherwise-healthy overweight and obese adults over a 16-week time period. During that time, some experimental groups were told to skip breakfast and others were told to eat breakfast.

Sensex extends gain, up 210 pts in early trade

Extending yesterday’s gains, the benchmark BSE Sensex spurted by another 210 points in early trade on sustained foreign fund inflows amidst a firming trend overseas in response to ECB measures to boost the eurozone economy.

The 30-share Sensex shot up by 210.51 points, or 0.84 per cent, to trade at 25,230.02 with stocks of oil and gas, realty, capital goods, PSUs and banking sectors rallied. The gauge had climbed nearly 214 points in the previous session.

The 50-share NSE Nifty, regained 7,500 mark for the first time since May 16 by gaining 50.10 points, or 0.67 per cent, to 7,524.20.

Roadside bomb kills 3 Afghanistan police: Official

An Afghan official says a police chief and two other officers were killed when a roadside bomb exploded while they were on a de-mining mission in the southern Gazni province.

Abdul Azim Farooqi, governor of the Waghaz district, said the district chief of police Mohammad Qasim had gone with other officers to remove a roadside bomb planted by Taliban insurgents.

When they removed the bomb another mine concealed under it exploded, killing Qasim and two other officers, and wounding a third policeman.

7 Pakistani soldiers killed in Afghan border attacks

At least seven Pakistani soldiers have been killed and as many injured in two cross-border attacks by Taliban militants on military outposts on the border with Afghanistan.

The target of the attack was Pakistani border posts in northwestern Bajaur tribal district which borders the Kunar province of Afghanistan.

Heavily armed militants crossed over from northeastern Afghanistan yesterday morning and attacked a military post in the Mano Zangal area, Express Tribune reported.

An evolutionary biologist has claimed that fairy tales are harmful to children because they “inculcate a view of the world which includes supernaturalism.”

Professor Richard Dawkins, a leading atheist and author of books including The Selfish Gene and The God Delusion, told an audience at the Cheltenham Science Festival that he stopped believing in religion when he was about eight after having seen through Santa Claus when he was just 21 months old.

“Our findings bring new insight into the relationship between a history of high blood pressure, blood pressure in old age, the effects of blood pressure on brain structure, and memory and thinking,” study author Lenore J. Launer, PhD, of the National Institute on Aging in Bethesda, Md., and a member of the American Academy of Neurology, said.
