Board of Intermediate Education will release Inter first year results on April 28 and Inter II year results on May 2. It has also released time table for Advanced Supplementary (instant) exam which will begin from May 25.

Obama deems North Korean nuclear threats futile

Dismissing North Korea’s nuclear threats, US President Barack Obama has reportedly warned the country of tougher sanctions if it were to go ahead with its fourth nuclear test.

Obama said at a joint press conference with South Korean President Park Geun-Hye that threats will get North Korea nothing, other than greater isolation.

According to News24, speaking in South Korea as satellite images revealed the North could be preparing for another test, Obama stressed that Washington and Seoul stood “shoulder to shoulder” in their refusal to accept a nuclear North Korea.

Fatah-Hamas pact good omen for Palestinians

Maulana Pir Syed Shabbir Naqshbandi Ifteqari President of All India Religious Leaders association congratulated Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on reconciliation and termed it as a good omen for oppressed Palestinians.

Defence Ministry rudderless, says Jaitley

Describing Defence Ministry under AK Antony as “rudderless and without direction”, BJP leader Arun Jaitley today said country’s defence preparedness has severely suffered during UPA regime.

“The geopolitical realities compel us to analyse that any future aggression may see the buildup of Pakistan and China axis. Our defence purchases and preparedness have seriously suffered. Under AK Antony, the Raksha Mantralya has been virtually rudderless and without direction,” Jaitley wrote in his campaign diary.

Cong could consider giving support to Third Front: Khurshid

Congress could consider extending support to the Third Front or taking its help to form the government if necessary after the Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister Salman Khurshid today said.

He claimed that Narendra Modi was going to emerge as a “big problem” for BJP and referring to Ram temple movement, said that when “Bhagwan ki lehar” (God’s wave) could not stop Congress, then how can “Modi wave” stop it.

The Catalan giants announced the death of Vilanova, who was forced to stand down as boss of the club and was replaced by Gerardo Martino, a day after the former footballer underwent emergency surgery.

Any elections in Kashmir are not an alternative to the exercise of their right of self-determination, Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam has said.

The comments from Aslam came while addressing the weekly press briefing at the ministry of foreign affairs in Islamabad on Thursday.

According to the Express Tribune, she added that this was the position of the United Nations Security Council resolutions as well.

Six killed in Pakistan clash

At least six people were killed and two injured Saturday in an exchange of fire between two tribal groups in Pakistan’s tribal region of North Waziristan.

The clash took place between the two groups in the Lowara Mandi area in Dattakhel tehsil of North Waziristan over a land dispute, Dawn online reported.

The area where the incident occurred reportedly lies adjacent to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Five-member committee to decide on new Andhra capital

The Centre has constituted a five-member expert committee to study various alternatives available to it to decide on a new capital for Andhra Pradesh.

This committee has been tasked with the responsibility of making the appropriate recommendations under Section 6 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.

The committee will chaired by former IAS officer K C Siva Ramakrishnan, who is currently a Research Professor and Chairman, Governing Board, CPR.

India’s criticism of Pakistan’s institutions ‘baseless’: FO

Pakistan has said India’s criticism on its institutions was baseless.

Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam made the comments during her weekly media briefing, saying that negative reporting against the ISI had been carried out by the Indian media in connection to the attack on journalist Hamid Mir.

Aslam added that the Indian institutions involved in the propaganda should first look into their own internal matters before criticizing others, Dawn News reports.

According to the report, she condemned the attack on Mir and prayed for his speedy recovery. (ANI)

Malaysia Airline staff held hostage by Chinese families of missing MH370 passengers

Agitated family members of the missing Malaysia Airline flight MH370 reportedly held the airline’s staff hostage inside a Beijing hotel for 10 hours and allegedly assaulted a security officer.

According to News.com.au, Malaysian Airlines released a statement about the two incidents which occurred late on Thursday and early yesterday as a delegation from Malaysian Airlines attempted to brief families at the Lido Hotel in Beijing.

About 200 grieving Chinese family members were called to attend a meeting, which was held by 10 Malaysian Airline staff.

EC says names missing from voters’ list in Mumbai, Pune an operational mistake

Election Commissioner H.S.Brahma has accepted that the Election Commission (EC) has committed a huge operational mistake by not including a large number of names in the voters list in Mumbai and Pune, election for which were held on April 17.

Brahma told reporters in New Delhi that he could not understand how so many names could go missing in such a compact area.

A large number of voters, including noted personalities, had to return disappointed from polling booths in both cities, as their names did not figure in the voters list.
