On Tuesday evening, an elderly woman was found murdered at her house in Gurumurthy Reddy Layout, B Narayanapura in Mahadevapura police station limits.

An anonymous e-mail threatening to blow up the Kempegowda International Airport Limited (KIAL) here prompted authorities to step up security.
“We have received a bomb threat here yesterday,” KIAL said in a statement here.
An FIR has been lodged with Bangalore Police, it said adding all airlines and partners have been put on alert.

On Monday, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her cousin at a desolate house in Lingarajapuram in Banaswadi police limits. The incident bring to light after the victim made a complaint to the police on Tuesday evening.
The victim, who is a manual labourer, lived with her elder sister, as she had lost her parents at a young age. Roopesh Kumar (22), the suspect, a fruit vendor, lived in the same vicinity. On Tuesday, the Bajpe police here arrested a 36-year-old man from Bangalore on the charge of molesting a Malaysian student on board a Mangalore-bound flight.
The victim, is a student at a private Dental college, made a complaint to the police that Ankur Agarwal “molested” her throughout the journey from Bangalore to Mangalore.

On Monday evening, Harika Raj, a class X student take her life by allegedly jumping off a three-storey building at Chikkajala.
Harika Raj,16, was a student of Oxford English School in Shakti Nagar, Chikkajala, was the eldest daughter of Rajkumar, a second Division Assistant working at the Vidhana Soudha.
Nanjundaiah, 34, a resident of Laggere, was arrested by Chikkajala police on the charge of theft and recovered stolen ornaments worth Rs 16 lakh from him.
According to police, the suspect would identify “gullible” passengers at bus stands and rob them of their valuables. He recently robbed a bag of ornaments from a mother-daughter duo, while they were unfocused.
He then trade in the ornaments at several jewellery shops across the City and borrowed money, police said.
About 550 gm of ornaments which he had stolen was reovered by the police.
Four persons have been arrested by theYelahanka police on the charge of robbery and recovered stolen ornaments worth Rs 9 lakh from them. The arrested are Jaffar, 31, Shabharish, 22, a resident of Kogilu village, Renuka, 36, and Seema, 31, all from Bhadravati.
According to police, the suspects operated as a team and under fired people at bus stands and public places. They would identify men wearing ornaments and introduce themselves under some pretext and collect their mobile phone numbers.

The victim Prameela is 23-year-old, a native of Doddabiranahalli in Chikmagalur district. She was staying in a hostel for visually challenged people in Shivajinagar. Prameela’s family member Vikas and friend Shruthi were also injured in the accident.

People with higher levels of the omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil may have larger brain volumes in old age equivalent to preserving one to two years of brain health, according to the study.
Shrinking brain volume is a sign of Alzheimer’s disease as well as normal ageing, researchers said.
For the study, the levels of omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cells were tested in 1,111 women who were part of the Women’s Health Initiative Memory Study.
