KCR resting in farm house,others choosing own ways

With TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao resting in his Medak farm house, each of the other players in the Telangana movement have been charting their own paths and agendas for achieving the ‘T’ state.

While KCR warned the Congress that it would see the violent form of the ‘T’ people’s wrath if it failed to make an announcement by August 20, his lieutenants are stating that he was planning strategies at the farm house. However, none other than TRS leaders, was believing the words of KCR that he has received some secret signals from the Union government on Telangana.

Children’s Deaths Continuing In Ruya Hospital

Deaths of children in Tirupati are continuing. On Thursday, three more children died, taking the toll to 10.

Parents of children are alleging that oxygen was in short supply and this was the reason for the deaths. However, hospital authorities are maintaining that the deaths were due to natural ailments and there was no dearth of oxygen.

YSRCP MLA Bhumana Karunakara Reddy staged a dharna at the hospital, protesting against the apathy of the government towards the continuing deaths of children.

Light to moderate rain in Coastal AP, Telangana

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 48 hours. The Met Office here today said that isolated rain or thundershowers would occur over Rayalaseema. The outlook for subsequent two days there would be increase of rainfall in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in the districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam of Telangana. The sky over Hyderabad and neighbourhood would be generally cloudy. Rain or thunder showers would occur in parts of city over next two days.

GMR Foundation donates Rs.5 lakh worth furniture to schools

The GMR Varalakshmi Foundation along with Kakinada Special Economic Zone promoters (KSEZ) today donated Rs five lakh worth of furniture-containing 110 iron dual desks, to elementary schools in the SEZ area spread over AV Nagaram, Ramanakkapet , Konapapapet and Konada areas. They also presented Rs 2,000 worth of scientific implements to 35 elementary schools in U Kothapalli and Thondangi Mandals.

Mahabubnagar Dist ahead in developmental schemes: DK Aruna

Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Minister DK Aruna today said the state Government will develop Mahabubnagar District by taking up developmental schemes. Addressing a gathering after unfurling the tricolor at police parade grounds here she said under ‘Jalayagnam’ scheme, the district had taken up four projects at an estimated cost of Rs 8000 crore to irrigate 8 lakhs acres of land. This year steps have been taken to irrigate 2.33 lakh acres of land in the first phase.

Flexi banner of YSRCP stirs controversy

A flexi banner on which the images of Mahatma Gandhi and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy were printed side by side created a controversy as freedom fighters, lawyers, social activists and Congress Party leaders vehemently objected and lodged their protest with officials concerned. The photographs of YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Mahatma Gandhi were printed on the flexi banner, side by side, showing them behind bars.

The caption was also controversial. Depicting Mr Y S Jaganmohan Reddy with Mahatma Gandhi on Independence Day made patriots angry.

Rs.42 lakh Municipal pipelines scam, 3 held

The Kakinada Rural Police today arrested three persons in connection with the Rs.42 lakhs municipal water pipelines excavation and illegal transportation scam, stated to be the first-of-its-kind. At a press conference here, the Kakinada Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) B Sai Sri said that heavy iron bead pipes of 5 meters length, 55 CMs diameter numbering 125 pieces were recovered while being disposed to the iron scrap dealers at Vijayawada.

Two more police control rooms for Rajahmundry city

Two more police control rooms in addition to the existing six would be opened in Rajahmundry city for effective policing shortly.

The Rajahmundry Urban Superintendent of Police T Ravi Kumara Murty said that 200 more police constables would be joining the urban police strengthening the police net work to ensure effective maintenance of law and order.

30 ill after consuming spurious toddy

About 30 people were taken ill after they allegedly consumed spurious toddy here today. Police said the unidentified people , who reportedly consumed adultered toddy, had fainted after they complaint of uneasiness. Out of 30 people, 20 sick people were shifted to Nizamabad Government hospital and the reaming were rushed to private hospitals here. All the condition of the people, who are undergoing treatment at various hospitals, stated to be out of danger, police added. UNI

YSR Congress MP Mekapati Raja Mohan Reddy has said that a deliberate attempt was being made to defame late chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, whose rule he has compared to the golden age of the Gupta empire.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Mekapati said the Cabinet ministers have dug a deep pit to bury the memory of late leader and had fallen in it themselves. He said that the cases against his party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy were part of this scheme to defame late YSR.

TDP demands cancellation of Vanpic deals

The Telugu Desam Party demanded that the State Government cancel all the agreements pertaining to the Vanpic project.

Addressing a press conference at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Tuesday, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government should cancel the Vanpic agreements and return the lands to the original owners from they were acquired. He said that the government should take stern action against all those related with the alleged irregularities in the Vanpic project and the lost money should be recovered from them.
