In 2009, 4,428 men called the family abuse hot line set up by the interior ministry to seek help, after being abused by their wives, up from 1,325 in 2002, it said.

Passenger removed from Canadian airliner over ‘body odor’

Canada, February 20: In an unprecedented move, a Canadian airliner refused to allow a passenger board his flight to the US because of what officials described as “his strong body odor.”

Jazz Air, a regional airline in Canada that also serves US cities, confirmed on Friday that a man was asked to leave a plane earlier this month for being unpleasantly odorous.

The flight was reportedly departing from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island in Canada.

Bogota, (Colombia) February 19: A Colombian woman declared dead of a heart attack moved one of her arms just as an undertaker was about to embalm her, doctors said Wednesday.

Noelia Serna, 45, was rushed to a hospital in the city of Cali, where she was in critical condition in an intensive care unit Wednesday, said hospital director Luis Fernando Rendon.

“Her chances of survival are slim,” Rendon said.

London, February 15: Half of women think that rape victims are to blame for their attack, a study has shown.

More than one in ten said that dancing provocatively, flirting or wearing revealing clothing made them partly responsible.
