• 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice

• 1 tbsp Cooking Oil
• Salt to taste

Procedure:

• Rub the ground paste all over the surface and marinate for about 4 to 5 hours.
• Smear the lamb pieces with little oil and put it through skewer.
• Grill the pieces on a hot oven.

Man bids $40,000 for a dozen Australian mangoes

Sydney, September 16: A box of 12 Australian mangoes received a record bid price of $40,000 at a fundraiser here.

The Age reported that Sydney Markets staged its 19th annual charity auction Wednesday to mark the official start of the mango season and raise money for the Westmead Children’s Hospital and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The season’s first tray of 12 Blush Packing House mangoes, grown in the Northern Territory, attracted four bidders.

“We are absolutely overwhelmed with that result,” auction spokeswoman Retina Hong was quoted as saying.

107-yr-old seeks her 23rd hubby

Kuala Lampur, September 15: A 107-year-old Malaysian woman has said she wants to get married again, for the 23rd time, as she fears her husband wants to leave her, says a report.

When Wook Kundor married four years ago to a man 70 years her junior their wedding photos made regional media.

But now she fears her husband will not return home after completing treatment for drug addiction in Kuala Lumpur.

She told reporters she felt “lonely” without her husband, ahead of the Muslim feast at the end of Ramadan.

1/2 kg chicken 2 inch cubes pieces (boneless)
1 tbs lemon juice
2 tbs flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp black pepper powder

1 tsp or to taste salt
1 tbs corn flour
Bread crumbs as required
1 egg, beaten
Oil for frying

Method

Aloo Bonda

Ingredients:

• 4 Potatoes
• 2 Cups besan
• 2 Green chilies
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp Garam masala
• 2 Cups oil

How to make Aloo Bonda:

• Boil the potatoes and mash it properly.
• Add red chili powder, garam masala, chopped green chilies to mashed aloo.
• Make ball of mashed aloo mixture.
• Add water to besan and make a batter of medium consistency.
• Now add turmeric powder and salt to batter.
• Dip each ball in the batter.
• Fry it till it turns golden brown.

Fish Biryani

Ingredients:

• 2 Cups basmati rice
• 1 Cup tomato puree (preferably fresh)
• 1 Cup coconut milk
• 2 Cups of water
• 1 tsp Chili powder
• 1 tsp Garam masala(optional)
• 10-12 pieces of thorn less fish
• 1 Inch ginger
• 8 Flakes garlic
• 1 Cup yogurt
• 4-5 Green chilies
• 1 Bunch coriander leaves
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric
• 2 Onions sliced
• 2 tsp Oil
• Salt to taste

How to make Fish Biryani:
• For Marination:
• Grind ginger, garlic, green chilies, turmeric, and salt into a fine paste.

Haleem

Ingridients:

• 200 gm Wheat (washed and soaked for 2 hrs)
• 300 gm Boneless Mutton
• 100 gms Cooking oil
• 3 Onions (sliced)
• 2 Lime
• 2 tsp Garam Masala
• Salt to taste

For paste:
• 20 gm Fresh Green Chillies
• 2 inch piece Ginger
• 6-8 flakes Garlic

How to make Haleem:
• Clean and marinate mutton with half of ground paste of ginger, garlic, green chillies and salt for 1 hour.
• Pressure cook the soaked wheat and marinated meat for about 45 minutes.
• Mince and grind to a fine paste.

Chicken Pakora

500 gm Boneless Chicken Pieces
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Ground Cumin
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1-2 each Chopped Green Chillies (Jalapeno)
1 Chopped Onion
1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
2 tsp Vinegar
1 cup Curd
1 tsp Lemon juice

Preparation:

Put everything but chicken and batter in blender and blend till fine
Marinate the chicken pcs with the resulting mixture
Keep in the fridge for 40 minutes.
Put chicken in batter
Deep fry it until its colour changes to golden brown Condiments
Serve the chicken pakora with coriander or mint chutney or tomato ketchup

FRUIT CUSTARD PUDDING RECIPE

100 gms cottage cheese grated

30 gms chopped raisins
4 gms white pepper powder
4 gms cardamom powder
salt to taste

How to make paaya nahari:

* Clean and cut the paaya into three pieces.

CHANA DAAL RECIPE

Ingredients:

1 cup chana daal
7 cup water
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp corriander powder
1 tblsp tamarind pulp
1 tsp sugar
1 tblsp vegetable oil
1/4 tsp black mustard seeds
1 chopped garlic clove

Preparation:

* Soak the chana daal in 4 cup water for 2-3 hours then wash and drain.
* Boil 3 cups water and the salt in a pan.
* Add the chana dal, cover the pan and cook over medium flame for 30 min.
* Stir the dal when cooked.

PhD scholar from Stanford turns cabbie

Hong Kong, Septembern 08: A PhD scholar from Stanford University who drives a taxi after he lost his job at a Singapore research institution has become a star of sorts after he began blogging about his “uniquely Singapore” experiences.

Cai Mingjie, who was born in China and got his PhD in biochemistry from Stanford, lost his job in May 2008 at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology at Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), where he had worked for 16 years as principal investigator.

Trouser-wearing women fined $200 in Sudan

Khartoum, September 07: A Sudanese judge convicted a woman journalist on Monday for violating the public indecency law by wearing trousers outdoors and fined her $200, but did not impose a feared flogging penalty.

Lubna Hussein was among 13 women arrested July 3 in a raid by the public order police in Khartoum. Ten of the women were fined and flogged two days later. But Hussein and two others decided to go to trial.

“I will not pay a penny,” she told the Associated Press while still in court custody, wearing the same trousers that had sparked her arrest.

Crying is good for relationships: Study

Washington, September 07: Crying is known to be a symptom of physical pain or stress but it can improve personal relationships, says a new study.

New analysis by Tel Aviv University (TAU) zoologist and evolutionary biologist Oren Hasson shows that while tears signal distress, they also function as an evolution-based mechanism to bring people closer.

“Crying is a highly evolved behaviour,” explains Hasson.
