“The idea that menstrual cycles will affect who women find attractive just does not hold up in the research literature,” Wendy Wood, a professor of psychology at University of Southern California, was quoted as saying.

A new research suggests that two thirds of Brits who’ve had cosmetic surgery regret the procedure, with the majority complaining they didn’t look how they imagined after the op.

Women with diabetes are at a 44 per cent higher risk of developing heart disease than men with the condition, a new research has found.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of some 850,000 people shows that women with diabetes are 44 per cent more likely to develop coronary heart disease (CHD) than men with diabetes independent of sex differences in the levels of other major cardiovascular risk factors.

The data used in the study stretches back almost 50 years, from 1966 to 2011, and includes 64 studies, 858,507 people and 28,203 incident CHD events.

Flipkart buys out Myntra fashion e-retailer

Leading e-commerce platform Flipkart Thursday announced it was acquiring Myntra, a leading e-retailer for fashion and lifestyle products, for an undisclosed amount.

“As both the companies are privately held, they have decided not to disclose the deal value,” a Flipkart spokesperson told IANS.

The deal is estimated to be worth about $300 million (Rs.1,740 crore), according to sources involved in the deal.
