Female ‘Hannibal Lector’ kills husband, cooks his organs

A 71-year-old French woman killed her 80-year-old husband and then cooked his heart, nose and genitals, it has been revealed.

A source said that the woman killed her husband with a kitchen mortar she used for grinding spices then cooked his heart, nose and genital organs in a pot but it is still not known whether she ate them or not, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Caroline Depretz, the woman’s lawyer said that she suffered from delusions and the act is definitely a fit of madness.

The woman was being compared to the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ fictional character ‘ Hannibal Lecter’.

Nancy McElwain, a U of I professor of human development, said securely attached children are more responsive to suggestions or requests made by a new peer partner.

McElwain said a child who has experienced a secure attachment relationship with caregivers is likely to come into a new peer relationship with positive expectations.

Anita Dongre to nurture six budding designers

As part of the Gen Next programme of Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW), fashion designer Anita Dongre will mentor six young talents, who will get the opportunity to present their creations at the upcoming Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014.

This is the 18th batch of the programme. The six young designers – Anuj Bhutani, Arunima Majhi, Dhruv Kapoor, Kristy De Cunha, Neha Agarwal and Surbhi Shekhar – were chosen by the LFW Advisory board.

UK woman claims to have been raised by monkeys

Marina Chapman, a middle-aged grandmother from Bradford, claims that she was brought up by the reclusive breed of Capuchin monkeys after being left in the jungle by kidnappers at the age of 5.

63-year-old Chapman from Bradford said that the monkeys taught her to survive and feed herself, and to prove her story, she even underwent a Jaeremy Kyle-style lie detector test, the Mirror reported.

Meanwhile, medical experts also confirmed that she had suffered malnutrition in her youth, which as per the Capuchin monkeys expert was due to living off a diet of just fruit and nuts.

Researchers have claimed that kids who spend more time in less structured activities – from playing outside to reading books to visiting the zoo – are better able to set their own goals and take actions to meet those goals without prodding from adults.

The study also found that children who participate in more structured activities-including soccer practice, piano lessons and homework-had poorer “self-directed executive function,” a measure of the ability to set and reach goals independently.

Most millennial moms who skip college have kids without marrying

Johns Hopkins University researchers have found that waiting until marriage to have babies is now “unusual” among less-educated adults close to 30 years old.

“Clearly the role of marriage in fertility and family formation is now modest in early adulthood and the lofty place that marriage once held among the markers of adulthood is in serious question,” sociologist Andrew J. Cherlin said.

“It is now unusual for non-college graduates who have children in their teens and 20s to have all of them within marriage,” he said.
