Narrated `Urwa bin Az−Zubair (r.a.): I asked `Abdullah bin `Amr (r.a.), “What was the worst thing the pagans did to Allah’s Apostle (s.a.w.s.)?” He said, “I saw `Uqba bin Abi Mu’ait coming to the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) while he was praying.’ `Uqba put his sheet round the Prophet (s.a.w.s.)’s neck and squeezed it very severely. Abu Bakr (r.a.) came and pulled `Uqba away from the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and said, “Do you intend to kill a man just because he says: ‘My Lord is Allah, and he has brought forth to you the Evident Signs from your Lord?”

Buying a New Car

When a person buys a new car, he always tries to keep it clean and safe from any type of damages. He will also drive very safely to avoid accidents, as he doesn’t want a slight dent on his new car. Even if his own beloved child makes a small scratch on the car, he will become angry and tell the child to stay away from it next time. What makes this person to care for his car so much? Mu’awiyah (Radiallahu anh) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallellahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) once came forth to meet a group of the Sahabah (R.A.). He (S.A.W.S.) said: “What has caused you to congregate here?” They replied: ‘We have congregated here to remember Allah Ta’ala and to praise Him for guiding us to Islam and blessing us with it.’
He (S.A.W.S.) said: “By Allah! Is this the only reason for your gathering?”

They replied: ‘By Allah! This is the only reason for our gathering.’

A Mother Who spent Wisely on Her Son

A man came back to his home in Al-Madinah after many years of journey. He asked his wife about his son and an amount of thirty thousand dinars which he had entrusted her before starting his journey. His wife said to him, “First go and pray in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah , then I will tell you about them.”

Darkness vs. Light

Once I had to go to a city for a few days. My plane landed there during the late night hours. A brother gave me a ride to the place where I was going to stay. This was the first time I visited this town and was curious to see what it looked like. However, it was dark at night and I wasn’t able to see many things.

The next day, I went out with the brother and he happened to take the same road as the previous night. But since it was day time, I was able to see the river, hills, and many other landscapes that was not properly visible the previous night.

HADITH: PEOPLE OF PARADISE/FIRE:

Narrated Haritha bin Wahab (radiallahu anh): ‘I heard the Prophet (sallellahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) saying: “Shall I tell you of the people of paradise? They comprise every poor humble person, and if he swears by Allah to do something, Allah will fulfill it. While the people of the fire comprise every voilent, cruel, arrogent person.”

HADITH: MUTUAL LOVE AND RESPECT BETWEEN ABU BAKR SIDDIQUE (radiallahu anh) AND THE PROPHET (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam):

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al−Khudri (r.a.): Allah’s Apostle (s.a.w.s.) sat on the pulpit and said, “Allah has given one of His Slaves the choice of receiving from the splendor and luxury of the worldly life whatever he likes or to accept the good (of the Hereafter) which is with Allah. So he has chosen that good which is with Allah.” On that Abu Bakr (r.a.) wept and said, “Our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you.”

ANGEL!

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. One day the child asked God, “They tell me you are going to send me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?” God replied, “Among the many angels I have chosen one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.” Said child, “But tell me here in Heaven I don’t do anything else but sing and smile. That’s what I need to be happy!” God replied, “Your angel will sing for you every day.

HADITH: HASAD (JEALOUSY AND ENVY)

Hasad (jealousy and envy) is among the most destructive emotions or feeling which a man may have towards his fellow human being. It causes him to wish evil for others and to be happy when misfortune befalls them. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) warned against envy by comparing it to fire that completely burns the wood.
He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Beware of jealousy, for verily it destroys good deeds the way fire destroys wood.” [Abu Dawood]

Hadith:TO GAIN THE LOVE OF ALLAH (SWT) AND THE LOVE OF THE PEOPLE

Abu’l-Abbas as-Sa’idi (radiallahu anh) said : “A man came to the Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and said, ‘Oh Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.)! Guide me to such an action, that when I do it, Allah will love me and the people will love me.’ He (s.a.w.s.) said: “Be detached from this world and then Allah will love you and do not be attracted to what people have and then the people will love you”.

SUNNAH ACTS OF JUMUAH:

1. To take a bath.

2. To wear nice and clean clothes.

3. To proceed early to the Masjid.

4. To go to the Masjid on foot.

5. To try to sit as close as possible to the Imaam.

6. If the Saffs (rows) are already filled, one should not jump over the shoulders of the musallies in order to get to the front.

7. One should not do any futile action eg. one should not fiddle with one’s clothes or fingers.

8. To listen to the Khutba attentively.

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:
Allah’s Apostle was the most generous of all the people, and he used to reach the peak in generosity in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel met him. Gabriel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to teach him the Qur’an. Allah’s Apostle was the most generous person, even more generous than the strong uncontrollable wind (in readiness and haste to do charitable deeds).

Ali (r.a) And Some Philosophers

Once some men of learning came to Sayyidina Ali (RA), the fourth Caliph of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who was his cousin as well as his son-in-law. They were neither Muslim nor Christian scholars, but philosophers. They were asking Sayyidina Ali (RA) questions, and he was answering them. Finally, they spoke out and said ‘There is no God.’ He said, ‘I cannot give you an answer here, let us go to the seashore.’

Hadith 1:3 Narrated ‘Hazrat Aisha (the mother of the faithful believers): The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah’s Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see his family.

Preparing for a Long Journey

Last week, I went on a journey for 2 days. All I took with me was a sleeping bag and some clothes. Before that, I had to go visit some cities for a duration of 6 days. For that journey, I took with me many more items than I took for the 2 days journey. Few years back when I was visiting a different country for a longer period, I had to take large luggages with me. The point is that we prepare more for long journeys than short ones.
