The 20-year-old shared the news on Instagram Thursday, reports people.com.
“R.I.P Sammy you were the best puppy ever,” he wrote, with a picture of his pet on his lap.
As per reports, the pup, who lived with Bieber’s grandparents in Ontario, Canada, was a comfort to the star when he moved in 2009.
