Aishwarya is a super mom: Abhishek

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan today said his actress wife Aishwarya Rai is a “super mom” and expressed his desire to protect his daughter Aaradhya from the world of showbiz so as to offer her normal childhood.

“Her (Aishwarya’s) professionalism and dedication is unquestionable. As a mother (of Aaradhya) she is superb..she is a super mom. As a co-star, I have always loved working with her. It is a pleasure,” Abhishek told PTI.

Abhishek said he and Aishwarya wanted their daughter Aaradhya be guarded from the showbiz.

Divyanka, Pooja go glam for Telly Calendar 2014

After two successful years, Telly Calendar will have an international feel with 12 popular small-screen actresses, including Divyanka Tripathi and Pooja Gor, shooting in their glamorous avatars in Malaysia for the 2014 edition.

Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor is all set to star in Pakistan’s most expensive mobile ad by a leading handset company here.

The 33-year-old ‘Heroine’ star, who is the brand ambassador of the company, has been signed up by QMobile, the largest selling mobile phone brand in Pakistan. The actress will soon be seen in a commercial that has been shot in Thailand.

Asked if this was the most expensive ad of Pakistan, QMobile’s Chief Marketing Officer Zeeshan Qureshi said, “I cannot say for the whole industry but yes, this is the most expensive form mobile sector.”

Saif is a genuine nawab, says Soha Ali Khan

Soha Ali Khan, currently busy promoting her forthcoming film `Mr Joe B. Carvalho`, describes her brother and actor Saif as a genuine nawab.

Saif was anointed the 10th Nawab of Pataudi after the death of his father and former India cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan in 2011.

When asked about the personality traits of her brother in real life, Soha said: “He is very special, and Saif was born a prince.”

“He was born in 1970 and in 1971 (under the 26th Amendment to the Constitution) all the princely titles were abolished. So, he was actually a prince for a year,” she said.

Comedian Kapil Sharma, who received Indian of the Year 2013 award in the entertainment category, thanked his fans for their love and support.

Producer and host of `Comedy Nights With Kapil`, he received the award from actor-filmmaker Amol Palekar at the event Friday.

Sanjay Dutt leaves Pune”s Yerawada Jail, headed for Mumbai home for 30 days

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is on his way to Mumbai after leaving Pune”s Yerawada Jail. He left the prison at 10 a.m. Dutt has been granted parole for a month after he filed an application citing his wife Maanyata”s illness. Maanyata, however, was seen at two separate events at the same time and the news of Sanjay Dutt being granted yet another parole stirred controversy and invited protests from activists. A doctor, who examined her, later certified that Maanyata has been diagnosed with a tumour in the liver and a suspected heart ailment.

When Abhishek cancelled his plans to be with Aishwarya

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, whose just released film `Dhoom 3` is creating buzz at the box office, today cancelled his work commitments due to personal reasons.

Abhishek was to meet industrialist Vijay Mallya at the launch of Kingfisher calendar here today and then attend a promotional event of `Dhoom 3` but had to cancel his plans at the last minute due to the demise of a close relative of his wife Aishwarya.

According to sources close to him, junior Bachchan rushed to be with Aishwarya after getting the news of the demise.

Ekta, Tusshar too busy for marriage: Jeetendra

Yesteryear star Jeetendra says both his children — TV queen Ekta and actor Tusshar Kapoor — are so busy with their professional lives that they do not have time to think about marriage.

“For every father their kids are good. I think we as fathers have to say good things about our children or else they will beat us,” Jeetendra said, jokingly, only to add that “but as a father you do have lot of worries for your children and it will remain till I die.”

Both Ekta and Tusshar are not married.

‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ a completely fake film: Naseeruddin Shah

Seasoned Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah says he didn`t like `Bhaag Milkha Bhaag` and feels it was a completely fake film.

“It`s a completely fake film. Farhan has no doubt worked very hard but building up muscles and growing your hair is not exactly working hard on your acting.

“At least he should have tried to look like Milkha. Milkha is mighty pleased by him and he imagines that this was his life, he imagined he looked like that. Doesn`t he have photographs of himself from 1960s Olympics,” Naseer said.

Want to take it slow in Bollywood: Dhanush

Southern superstar Dhanush, who will be next seen in R. Balki`s film, is not keen on taking more than one film at a time in Bollywood as he is still finding tough to understand the culture and pulse of the Hindi film audiences.

Dhanush, who made his Bollywood debut with “Raanjhanaa” this year, wants to take it slow.

“I would like to take one film at a time, atleast here in Bollywood because it is very difficult for me to understand the culture, understand the pulse of the audience,” Dhanush told reporters here Friday at the red carpet event of fourth season of Celebrity Cricket League.

Sanjay Dutt out on parole, second time in three months

Incarcerated Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was released on a month’s parole here to look after his ailing wife Manyata, official sources said Saturday.

Dutt, 54, stepped out of the Yerawada Central Jail here and left for Mumbai.

He sought parole early this month from the Pune divisional commissioner.

Incidentally, the actor’s release on parole – a controversial issue with most political parties opposing it – came a day after the Maharashtra legislature session ended in Nagpur Friday.

This is the second time the actor has come out on parole in the past three months.

Sanjay Dutt out on parole

Two weeks after Sanjay Dutt was granted a month-long parole, the Bollywood actor was on Saturday released from Pune’s Yerwada Jail.

Additional Director General of Prisons Meeran Borwankar confirmed the development to PTI.

Dutt, undergoing remainder of his five-year jail term for possessing illegal firearms, part of a cache of weapons meant to be used during the 1993 blasts, was granted parole on December 6.

The 53-year-old had applied for parole citing ill-health of wife Manyata, to Pune Divisional Commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh in whom the authority to grant parole is vested.

Katrina Kaif visits Ajmer Sharif

Actress Katrina Kaif today offered her prayers at the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer.

Kaif offered floral tributes and sought blessings for the success of her upcoming film ‘Dhoom 3’, which will hit theatres tomorrow.

“She visited the dargah to seek blessings for the success of her upcoming movie ‘Dhoom-3’,” a Khadim (priest), who accompanied her in the tomb for Ziyarat, said.

The 30-year-old actress has been visiting Ajmer Sharif regularly before the release of her films. Kaif first visited the dargah for her film ‘Namaste London’ in 2007.

Actor Vindoo Dara Singh, who won the third season of popular reality show “Bigg Boss”, believes he was a “saint” when compared to the contenders of the ongoing edition of the show. Actor Aamir Khan is worried about reports that the ticket rates for his film “Dhoom 3”, releasing Friday, have been increased. He says it’s a “misconception” and that he wants all audiences to watch the action adventure film as per their own budget – whether for Rs.70 or Rs.700.

“If there is this misconception that the ticket prices for ‘Dhoom 3’ have been increased, then the audience will not come to watch the film in theatres. For the past two to three days I have been worried about this,” Aamir told reporters at a press conference here Thursday afternoon.
