No marriage plans yet: Kangana Ranaut

Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is gearing for the release of her women-centric film `Queen`, says she has no plans for marriage as off now as she is busy with other priorities in life.

“I have no plans for marriage and I like to be alone. There are other things in my life which are my priorities. Marriage is about companionship and commitment but I have no plans,” Kangana told reporters in a group interview.

Tech-savvy Sonu plays games with kids, SRK

He is tech savvy, owns around 30 video games and his favourite is PlayStation 4. Sonu Sood, a graduate in electronics engineering, says he spends his “free moments” playing games with his sons or with his team of “Happy New Year”, including lead actor Shah Rukh Khan.

“I’m very tech savvy. I have studied Electronics Engineering so that helped develop my interest and I am very up to date with all the gadgets that are launched in the market,” Sonu told IANS.

The film industry was left mourning the loss of many of its stalwarts in the year goneby with the veterans like Pran, Shamshad Begum, Manna Dey and Farooq Sheikh biding adieu to the world.

Sheikh’s death on December 28 in Dubai due to a heart attack shocked his friends and family as the 65-year-old actor appeared to be in good health. He had gone to Dubai for a holiday after finishing the promotion of his latest release ‘Club 60’.

Actress Deepika Padukone has been approached for a Sooraj Barjatya film starring Salman Khan.

The superstar will be teaming up with Barjatya for a film after 14 years. Their last outing together was ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.

‘Mahabharat’ loses box office battle to ‘Dhoom: 3’

Jayantilal Gada’s “Mahabharat” with a starry list of voiceover artists like Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Ajay Devgn couldn’t grab much attention as viewers are more interested in watching Aamir Khan starrer “Dhoom: 3”.

Released on about 150 screens Friday, the Amaan Khan directorial is said to be India’s most expensive animated film.

Made on a budget of Rs.50 crore, minimal promotion was done for the 125-minute film, which is an outcome of seven years of hard work; the official statement says that the movie has collected Rs.1.5 crore in three days.

Actress Tanisha Mukerji, whose proximity with Armaan Kohli during their stay in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house hogged headlines, has dismissed any romantic talk by saying that he is her “best friend”.

At a post finale press conference, Tanishaa was questioned about her relationship with Armaan and she became visibly angry.

The makers of `Dhoom 3` have found the pot of gold with the fast-paced action thriller. The Hindi box office business of the Aamir Khan-starrer has reached Rs.211 crore and, looking at its pace, trade pundits predict it will soon cross the benchmark set by Shah Rukh Khan-starrer `Chennai Express`, which became the biggest grosser by earning Rs.216 crore.

Zeenat Aman stars in bilingual film

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman has starred in a bilingual movie `Strings of Passion` dealing with the unexplored subject of sexual torture of male models and extras.

Zeenat, 62, who acknowledged ignorance about such a practice, told the director of the movie, Sanghamitra Chowdhury, “Frankly, I did not know that it exists in our industry.”

The yesteryear star plays the role of the mother of one of the three protagonists in the movie, which is a Hindi-English production.

Deepika to announce two new projects around birthday

The New Year is yet to set in but for Deepika Padukone it already seems to be turning out well. The actress, who gave four back-to-back hits in 2013, is likely to announce two more projects around her 28th birthday.

She currently has three films – “Happy New Year”, “Finding Fanny” and Imtiaz Ali’s next, to look forward to next year.

Actress Suchitra Sen shifted to critical care unit of Kolkata hospital

Eighty-two-year-old Bollywood and Bengali actress Suchitra Sen has been shifted from a general bed to the critical care unit of a Kolkata Hospital, as her medical condition has been described by doctors as serious due fluid accumulation in her lungs.

Sen is said to be on antibiotics and oxygen in the privately-run Belle Vue Clinic. Her diabetic parameter, too, is said to be fluctuating adding to the problem.

Sen was admitted to the clinic with respiratory tract infection and complaints of breathlessness.

Gauahar Khan’s elder sister Nigaar Z. Khan believes it’s too early to predict whether the “Bigg Boss – Saath 7” winner will marry co-contestant Kushal Tandon, saying: “Let’s not hatch eggs before they are laid.” Their mother believes things can be taken forward if Gauahar so desires.

At a press meet here, their mother, Razia was asked if she would get Gauahar and Kushal married.

She said: “Gauahar is a very intelligent girl. If she wants, then we will definitely take things forward.”
