A dull day for Shah Rukh Khan

After wrapping up work, Superstar Shah Rukh Khan wished to spend time with his children. But due to their busy schedule, he couldn`t have fun with them.

“Did lots of work today. Meetings, shootings, discussions and back home, but the kids are busy…bah! Guess it’s Jack’s dull day. All work and no play,” Shah Rukh tweeted Sunday.

The `Chennai Express` superstar, who is married to Gauri Khan, has son Aryan, daughter Suhana and surrogate son AbRam.

Bollywood heartthrob Vidyut Jamwal and diva Kangana Ranaut have been named PETA India’s hottest vegetarian celebrities of 2013.

After garnering thousand’s of votes, Jamwal, 33, and Ranaut, 26, bagged the top spot to be named the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India’s hottest star.
They faced a strong competition from Amitabh Bachchan, R Madhavan, Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan among others.

Don’t want to do just another TV show: Aishwarya Sakhuja

Popular TV actress Aishwarya Sakhuja, who shot to fame as Toasty in hit soap `Saas Bina Sasuraal`, says she does not want to do run-of-the-mill shows on small screen.

The model-turned-actress is currently doing `Main Naa Bhoolungi`, a thriller-drama.

“I don`t want to do any run-of-the-mill shows. After `Saas Bina Sasuraal`, it took me a while to choose a fiction show which I liked. It (`Saas…) was a path breaking show for me and I was looking for something bigger after that,” the 27-year-old said.

Snippets: Holiday in Goa leaves Bipasha rejuvenated

Actress Bipasha Basu is “rejuvenated” after her “liberating and relaxing” holiday in Goa. She is now back home.

The actress took to Twitter to share her love for Goa and even posted a picture of herself while on holiday.

“Goa is the only place where you can just be! Liberating and Relaxing. Back to Mumbai after a great holiday! Rejuvenated,” Bipasha posted on the microblogging site Friday.

Ajaz Khan was flattered by the love that he received once he came out of reality show “Bigg Boss – Saath 7”. He credits Bollywood star Salman Khan for making him popular among the audience when he was inside the “Bigg Boss” house.

Salman hosted the show.

“Salman Khan is the man who has put me in the hearts of the audience. I first made a place in his heart and only then could I enter the people’s hearts,” Ajaz said here Friday at an acting institute Livewires.

Iconic Bengali actress Suchitra Sen, who was put on non-invasive ventilator support after her condition deteriorated Friday night, is better, says her granddaughter Raima Sen.

“My grandma is better. Thank you for your prayers…Keep praying,” Raima tweeted Saturday.

The veteran actress, 82, is undergoing treatment for a chest infection at Belle Vue Clinic since Dec 23. Suchitra was taken to the critical care unit (CCU) after her condition deteriorated Dec 28 night.

One of Bollywood’s favourite Khans, Aamir, claims to earn the “least compared to others”, and says he “cannot compromise” with his emotions as “money cannot buy me”.

“Till today, I have not worked for money and that is one of my biggest strengths,” Aamir, who is currently on a roller-coaster thanks to the success of his latest release “Dhoom 3”, told IANS in an interview here.

Bollywood singers attend launch of devotional music album in Mumbai

Bollywood singers attended the launch of a devotional, spiritual music album with songs dedicated to Lord Krishna here on Friday.

Singer-composer Rupa Raman has composed the album.

Singer Hariharan, who launched the music album, said: “This album has been directed by Rupa Raman, and five singers have lent their voice to devotional and spiritual songs in it. The songs have been beautifully composed and the singers have done a great job. It is very soothing to the ear.”

Raman has composed over 200 classical albums and her latest offering is inspired by the teachings of Lord Krishna.

Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif ruled mobile search trends in October-December quarter last year, mobile video and media company Vuclip said.

However, Aamir Khan-starer Dhoom 3 was the most searched term on mobiles in the last quarter of 2013.

“Dhoom 3, a Bollywood blockbuster movie topped the list, surpassing sensational superstars Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan,” Vuclip said in a release.

Vuclip announced that it is experiencing a rapid global adoption and popularity in mobiles and expects to reach 100 million monthly unique mobile users globally soon.

Ranbir Kapoor to be Lay’s brand ambassador

Beverages and foods major PepsiCo India is extending its association with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, who will now also endorse the company’s snack brand Lay’s.

Ranbir, who has been the brand ambassador of soft drink Pepsi since 2008, will feature in a brand new campaign of Lay’s, PepsiCo India said in a statement.

Commenting on the development, PepsiCo India’s Foods Category Director (Western Category) Gaurav Mehta said: “We believe that this association with Ranbir will enable us to take our brand philosophy to new heights as we expand our reach to India’s youth.”

Dia resumes ‘Bobby Jasoos’ shoot

Actress-producer Dia Mirza is excited to resume the shooting for “Bobby Jasoos”.

The 32-year-old’s mother underwent an emergency heart surgery due to which the shooting of her production venture was postponed.

“All our bags are packed! Onto schedule 2 of ‘Bobby Jasoos’ yippee! Can’t believe by the end of the month principle photography will be done! (sic)” Dia tweeted Thursday.

“Bobby Jasoos” is the second project under the banner, Born Free Entertainment, which she co-owns with Sahil Sangha. The film stars Vidya Balan in the lead role.

‘Dhoom: 3’ crosses Rs.250 crore

After becoming the first movie to make the fastest Rs.100 crore in just three days of its release, Aamir Khan-starrer “Dhoom: 3” has created another history by minting Rs.252.70 crore at the domestic box office within two weeks, including earnings from the Tamil and Telugu versions.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the movie, which came out Dec 20, was released in about 4,000 screens. Also featuring Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, “Dhoom: 3” was made on an approx budget of Rs.100 crore.

Suchitra Sen stable, under review by cardiologist

The condition of legendary Bengali actress Suchitra Sen, under treatment in the critical care unit (CCU) of a nursing home here, is stable, a medical bulletin said Thursday.

However, her heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation are being constantly monitored.

Undergoing treatment for chest infection, Sen was Sunday night rushed to the hospital after her condition deteriorated and her heart beat became irregular.

“Her vital parameters are satisfactory. She took her normal prescribed diet,” said the latest report.

Basanti’s jungle scene in ‘Sholay’ hard to convert to 3D

The conversion of 1975 film ‘Sholay’ into 3D was not an easy task and some of the scenes posed problems. One such was when veteran actress Hema Malini, who plays the role of Basanti, is seen in a jungle.

The conversion has been done by filmmaker Keten Mehta`s Maya Digital studios, which really had to struggle to convert a few scenes of the cult film.

“One of the most complicated frames from the film is where Hemaji is standing in a jungle,” Mehta, who has made films like ‘Maya Memsaab’ and ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’, said in a statement.
