Superstar Salman Khan, who has been promoting Swedish-Greek actress Elli Avram ever since she entered the reality show “Bigg Boss 7” house, says he may consider her for a film.

Salman was the host of “Bigg Boss 7”, which ended recently.

When asked whether Elli will be seen with him on the big screen, Salman said: “You will see Elli when a director or producer casts her. We have Elli in mind for sure … I will say that straight out.”

Elli made her Bollywood debut with “Mickey Virus”.

However, Salman clarifies that nobody can take undue advantage of his friendship to get a film.

After collaborating with the United Nations for polio eradication, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan today said his focus next is women emancipation.

Bachchan, 71, will now work as UN ambassador for Girl Child and hopes of emulating the success that they had with the polio eradication campaign, the actor said.

Marathi actress Alka Punewar, who mysteriously disappeared while on her way to Uran in neighbouring Navi Mumbai for a stage show ten days ago, was traced to Chennai, where she had been staying with her boyfriend, the police said here today.

The Mumbai police said that the actress, her boyfriend and their mutual friend had faked her ‘accident’ at Khopoli in Raigad district so that they could elope.

A Mumbai court Tuesday postponed till Jan 21 the hearing in the 2002 accident case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan after the prosecution sought time to appeal against the retrial order in the Bombay High Court.

Public prosecutor J.V. Kendralkar informed Sessions Court Judge D.W. Deshpande that the prosecution was awaiting the state government’s response in the matter and accordingly sought time.

Salman Khan’s lawyer Shrikant Shivade opposed the prosecution plea and urged the fresh trial to commence immediately.

Priyanka Chopra is all set to host the renowned 59th Filmfare awards that will be held in India’s entertainment capital Mumbai on January 24.

The 31-year-old former Miss World said, “There is a huge pressure because Filmfare has always been entertaining and there has been a standard set by a lot of people so it’s scary”, but she added that she is ready to face the challenge.

Hindi movie superstar Salman Khan Monday unveiled Audi RS 7 Sportback in India and said the vehicle is for the common man who wants to be uncommon.

“This is the common man’s car too … common man who wants to be uncommon,” Salman told reporters at the launch of the luxury car.

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer’s new offering is available at Rs.1.28 crore in the country.

Bollywood actor-producer Aamir Khan, who stays away from award functions, says an Oscar nomination provides an opportunity to a film to get more viewers.

Aamir is one of the few Indian filmmakers to win an Oscar nomination – 2001 period drama “Lagaan” in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

“For me, the Oscar is a window from which your audience increases…I see it in that way only,” Aamir, currently basking in the success of “Dhoom 3”, told reporters in a group interview.

Rs 100 crore seems like a forgotten figure! `Dhoom:3`, the latest instalment of Bollywood`s successful action adventure franchise, has grossed Rs 501.35 crore ($83.56 million) worldwide since its release Dec 20 last year.

On Monday, its production banner, Yash Raj Films (YRF), issued a statement confirming the news.

“`Dhoom:3` continues to create history at both the Indian and overseas box office. It is now officially the first Indian film to cross Rs.500 crore worldwide,” read the statement.

Superstar Salman Khan says he is not interested in getting married and is happy being single.

“I am not interested in getting married or having a girlfriend. I am loving my single status. In 30 years I must have been single…I am loving it. I am absolutely having a blast…You have no idea how I am feeling,” Salman said in an interview here.

Salman had yesterday visited Nagpur for the promotions of his upcoming film `Jai Ho` when fans went crazy and chased him, leading to chaos.

“I request and advice all my fans to admire me from far because I can`t see kids and everyone getting pushed and hurt. If all this keeps happening, I think I should stop visiting cities. I respect and appreciate their love and warmth,” Salman told reporters here at an event.

The trailer of Madhuri Dixit-starrer `Gulaab Gang` will be released with `Dedh Ishyiya`, which is coming out Friday.

The actress will be seen after a gap of seven years in Abhishek Chaubey`s `Dedh Ishqiya`, which also features Huma Qureshi, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi.

According to a statement, not only will Madhuri`s fans get to see her in `Dedh Ishqiya`, they will also get a glimpse of her performance in `Gulaab Gang`.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui credits his films `Miss Lovely` and `Gangs of Wasseypur` for putting Hindi films on a higher pedestal at the Cannes International Film Festival and says that post their screenings movie aficionados have started taking them seriously.

Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi has begun shooting director Manish Jha’s next ‘The Legend of Michael Mishra’.

The film stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Boman Irani and his son Kayoze Irani, who was last seen in filmmaker Karan Johar’s ‘Student of The Year’.

“Good morning… Today I start shooting for ‘The legend of Michael Mishra’… Nervous and excited,” Warsi posted on Twitter.

Actress Shruti Haasan, who was in the city shooting for upcoming Telugu film “Race Gurram”, was Sunday admitted to a private hospital after she complained of acute stomach pain.

Busy promoting her forthcoming release “Yevadu”, she was present at its app launch when she complained of the pain.

“Shruti was admitted to Jubilee Hills Apollo hospital after she complained of severe stomach ache. She is currently undergoing treatment,” “Yevadu” official spokesperson told IANS.

Actor Aamir Khan says that he is still in touch with his ex-wife Reena, and she is a part of the family, despite their divorce.

Aamir and Reena married in 1986 and had two children, but in 2002, they filed for divorce by mutual consent.
