General Fellowships (by ICSSR)

General Fellowships are awarded to scholars, preferably below the age of 50 years, who have shown significant promise and potential for research

They should have completed their doctoral degree or should have done equivalent research work of merit

Amount :

•For employed scholars, Contingency grant of Rs.12,000/- per annum
•For unemployed scholars, benefit amount is Rs. 6,000/- per month. (consolidated). Contingency grant is Rs.12,000/- per annum.
•The maximum duration of the fellowship is two years.

Understanding causes, prevention of ‘bullying’ among school age youth

A special issue of American Psychologist provides a comprehensive review of over 40 years of research on bullying among school age youth, documenting the current understanding of the complexity of the issue and suggesting directions for future research.

Lead author Shelley Hymel of the University of British Columbia said that the lore of bullies has long permeated literature and popular culture. Yet bullying as a distinct form of interpersonal aggression was not systematically studied until the 1970s. Attention to the topic has since grown exponentially.

Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund (JNMF) Scholarships

Applications are invited for Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarships available for Indian nationals and nationals of other eligible Asian countries to pursue PhD study in India. Applicants must not be above 35 years of age and must hold a first class postgraduate degree with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in both graduate and post graduate level. JNMF scholarship is awarded for a period of 2 years and will commence from April every year. The application deadline is 31 May.
