JODHPUR: Bollywood actor Salman Khan walked into Jodhpur Central Jail on Thursday after being awarded 5-year-imprisonment in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Salman was also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
The 52-year-old actor will be in the same jail that houses several other high-profile convicts which includes Asaram Bapu, Malkhan Singh Vishnoi and Shambhu Lal Regar.

Jodhpur jail authorities said that the Dabangg actor will be lodged in a barracks next to self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, a police officer said.
A spiritual leader, Asaram Bapu has been in the jail for over five years after being convicted of raping a 16-year-old schoolgirl in his ashram on August 3, 2013.

Rajsamand killer Shambhulal Regar is another ‘infamous’ inmate who is set to give Khan company in jail.
Shambhulal was jailed for murdering a 48-year-old Mohammed Afrazul, a migrant Muslim labourer from West Bengal in December last year. Regar hacked Afrazul and sets him on fire and also filmed the brutal crime ranting against “love jihad”.
He purportedly shot two hateful videos from inside the jail in Jodhpur that had gone viral.

Salman Khan was taken to Jodhpur jail where he is likely to spend the night. Hearing in the bail application will take place on Friday in Jodhpur Session Court.
