Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Council participated as chief Guest at Teachers Day Celebrations held at Gandhi Bhawan today. He said the teachers’ community and their profession is for noble cause.
He said the nation is proud of former President S Radha Krishna, who was a teacher by profession, he said. It is unfortunate that the Telangana Government is neglecting the Education Sector and the literacy rate is below the national average of 76%. The Govt. always promised to hold the DSC but since three and half years there is no single teacher recruited by the Government. During the Congress Govt, regular DSC was conducted and thousands of teachers were recruited.
The status of Engineering Colleges is also going down abnormally and the number of Engineering Colleges were also reduced drastically every year. It is unfortunate that the Govt. of Telangana was not even bothered to organize the Teachers day officially at State Headquarters, said Shabbir Ali. (NSS)
