Help complete projects: Harish urges Gadkari

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today urged Union water resources minister Nitin Gadkari to extend cooperation for speedy completion of prestigious irrigation projects in Telangana. Along with MP Jithender Reddy, he met Gadkari in Delhi and apprised him of various projects being completed in the new state such as Kaleshwaram, Palamur lift scheme, SRSP, flagship programs like Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagriatha and others.

The minister sought the union Minister to take initiative for timely release of  funds and necessary permissions for forest and environment for the prestigious projects  taken up in  the larger public interest. Harish cited that the state government has taken up in a prestigious manner the projects for irrigating about one crore acre over five years. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was personally monitoring the speedy completion of the projects and the Centre’s cooperation and financial assistance is essential in this regard,  he said.

  Jithender Reddy also urged Nitin Gadkari to accord permission for four lane road works from Jadcherla to Mahabubnagar. Gadkari responded positively on the issues brought to his notice.(NSS)
