Hyderabad city was gripped with rumors of soaring of prices of salt in Borabanda area forcing people to stand in queues in the morning.
However, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, who was on morning walk, has rushed to place and visited some shops in the area. He asked the officials to book cases against traders, who are creating artificial scarcity and selling salt at exorbitant rates. When the Deputy Mayor visited some shops, people standing in queue complained about the rumors. They said shop-keepers are selling salt Rs 60 to 100 per kg. Fasiuddin denied reports and asked people not to get panicked as rumors are totally false. (NSS)
