OU degree pass percentage shows decline

Hyderabad, June 11: The overall pass percentage in the Osmania University degree final year showed a slight decline compared to last year, results of
which were announced here on Wednesday.

This year the overall pass percentage for the final year is 54.46. From a total of 59,073 students who had appeared for the examination, only 32,173 students could make the grade.

This year the pass percentage in BA stream is 57.52 compared to 59.70 per cent last year. In B Sc stream, while last year 55.09 per cent students passed the examination, this year, the pass percentage has come down to 50.09. However in B Com, the percentage has remained more or less the same with the pass percentage this year being 58.81 compared to last year’s 58.65.

This year, in all, 2,09,823 candidates comprising 1,12,259 boys and 97,564 girls appeared for Degree I, II and III year examinations. For B A, 33,869 students appeared for the exam, for B Com, 84,062 students and 91,892 students appeared for B Sc examinations.

Osmania University vice-chancellor Prof T Tirupathi Rao while releasing the results said that the university had managed to release the results in time despite elections. The examinations concluded on May 5 and within 45 days, the results were announced, he said.

Temporary online memos can be had on payment of Rs 25 through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of the Registrar, Examination Fee Fund, Osmania University at the Examination Branch from June 12. These memos as well as internet-downloaded marks sheets will be accepted with the application forms submitted for revaluation and recounting.
