Hyderabad, December 31: Landslide victory of National Democratic Alliance in Bihar assembly elections held in October-November this year giving NDA government a second term marked total approval by the people for policies floated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar aimed at’development with social justice’.
On the other hand, Lalu-Paswan duo faced severe drubbing
as RJD-LJP alliance led by them fared poorly in recent electoral husting which pushed both the leaders in political oblivion.
NDA, having JD(U) and BJP as its constituents, led by Mr Kumar gave stunning performance by bagging 206 out of the 243 seats in the state Assembly.
Analysts had not predicted such a pathetic scenario for RJD
supremo Lalu Prasad and LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan as
RJD-LJP alliance could get mere 25 seats.
Congress powered by star campaigners including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party president Sonia Gandhi and youth icon Rahul Gandhi was expecting to increase its tally dramatically from 10 in Bihar assembly to play vital role in formation of the next government but it could secure only three seats.
Left also faced a debacle in the electoral battle as barring CPI which scored one, no other left party including CPI-M and CPI(ML) succeeded in opening the account.
