The Muslim Minority Reservation Porata Samiti (MMRPS) has demanded that the Centre and State governments to provide reservations to the Muslim minority according to their population.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, MMRPS founder-president Taher Kamal Khundmiri appealed to All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi to announce separate Telangana State with Hyderabad as capital city. He felt that the Congress was the only party that could take the country ahead on the path of progress and development under the dynamic leadership of Sonia Gandhi. However, it was irony of circumstances that the Congress, which was ruling the country, was surrounded by several scams and it suffered a drubbing in Uttar Pradesh elections dashing the dreams Rahul Gandhi to the ground, he added. He said that it was because Sonia Gandhi was surrounded by a coterie of advisers who have no vision about Indian politics. Some of them were selfish, neither interested in the cause of the party nor in the welfare of the people, he alleged.
Taher Kamal Khundmiri urged the AICC president to remove Ahmed Patel as her Political Adviser and save the party and welfare of people. He also demanded that AICC president change the portfolio of External Affairs Minister E. Ahmed, who had miserably failed to make elaborate arrangements for Haj pilgrims.
Khundmiri alleged that AICC general secretary in-charge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and others were not brining ground realities in the Telangana region to the notice of Sonia Gandhi. He also alleged that Azad was hand in glove with the Seemandhra landlords and an enemy of poor Telangana people. (NSS)
