Ashok Singh urges T youth not to commit suicides

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Linguistic Minority Cell Chairman Ashok Singh has appealed to the youth in the Telangana region not to resort to suicides for the cause of separate Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Ashok Singh urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to keep UPA government’s promise made by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on December 9, 2009 on Telangana issue. He made it clear that the people of Telangana region would not accept a Telangana State without Hyderabad as capital. He urged the State government to withdraw cases foisted against the students during separate Telangana agitation. He also appealed to all political parties to come on a single platform to fight for separate Telangana State.

Ashok Singh demanded that the Centre provide 10 per cent reservations to the linguistic minorities in education and employment in the country. He said that they would organize dharna in front of AICC office at New Delhi shortly if the Congress high command failed to concede their demands.

Greater Hyderabad wing chairman Pandit Vishesh Sharma, vice-president Abhishek Agarwal and youth wing president Murali Mohan Singh were also present. (NSS)
