Marketing reforms to boost farmers: Harish

To provide remunerative prices to the farmers Marketing Department is going in for reforms, Marketing and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has said. Our aim is to provide better prices for the farm produce and offer all facilities at Ryothu Bazars to help the people he said.

 

Participating at a workshop on National Agricultural Market (NAM) and steps to strengthen the marketing wing at ASCI in Banjara Hills here, Harish Rao said that steps are being taken to make use of the world best marketing policies. The government, he said, began single levy and single license for providing better services to the farmers.

The minister maintained that the online marketing facility has already been started. The government is firm to adopt changes in terms of latest trends, new technology for improving services the minister said. Marketing Commissioner Sharath, ASCI Chairman Padmanabhaiah and marketing officials from 10 Telangana Districts participated in the workshop.

Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) and the state government have signed an agreement to strengthen the Marketing department, to improve the efficiency of the staff and to supply technology know-how. (NSS)
