Maha samprokshanam performed to Anjana-Anjaneya Temple

The Maha Samprokashanam festival was performed with religious fervor in the temple of Sri Anjaneyaswami and Anjanadevi at Akasha Ganga Teertham, near Tirumala shrine of Lord Venkateswara and the darshan of the presiding deities made open for the pilgrim public by TTD Executive Officer MG Gopal after the ritual on Sunday.
According to temple legendary, the holy waters from the Akasha Ganga are brought every day for Abhishekam and other rituals at the Srivari Temple at Tirumala. The ancient texts also mention that this location is also named as Anjanadri as it was here that Anjanadevi meditated and begot Anjaneya as her son .The temple of Anjanadevi and Anjaneya were renovated two years ago and Balalayam was also performed.
Meanwhile, the Maha Samprokshanam of this renovated temple was observed for three days starting from August 29 by the TTD. On the first day, Vighneswara Puja, Mahaganapathi Homam and Ankurarpanam were performed. While on August 30, Yagashala Puja, Panchagavya Aradhana, Bimba Asta Dasha Kriyakalapam and Nitya homam were performed in the morning and Bimba Pratisha and Asta Bandhana rituals were performed in the evening.
On Sunday, the ritual began at 8 am with Kumbhabhisekham and later Vimana Shakala Maha Samprokshanam was performed and the pilgrims are allowed for the darshan of Lord Anjaneya and Goddess Anjana Devi from 12 noon. The TTD administration renovated this temple at an estimated expenditure of Rs 22.5lakhs in stone carving masonry technique.
