Hyderabad: Ahead of the Assembly polls just a week away, TRS president and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today intensified his attack on Congress by calling Rahul Gandhi as a joker and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a liar to rebut their charges against Telangana.
Addressing public meetings at Illendu, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem and other places, KCR promised to bring Bayyaram Steel factory by pressing the Centre. Or else, the State Government will take over total mining activity in Singareni and launch steel factory, he declared much to the delight of the gathering. He also attributed the deserting of old Khammam district to deliberate attempts by the successive governments despite Godavari was flowing through it. “We will make ample use of Godavari waters and will bring under irrigation every inch of the land in North Telangana, the TRS chief announced.
KCR expressed surprise at Rahul Gandhi for terming the TRS a splinter party of the BJP in Telangana and took serious exception for stating that the TRS regime has redesigned the projects for commissions. Promising to address all the issues the TRS chief has announced to increase pensions besides giving unemployment allowance to the youth in Telangana. When the Nagarjuna Sagar was built, the then State government deceived Telangana by opposing a canal towards Illendu and took away the waters to Andhra region, he recalled. The Telangana Congress leaders had no spinal cord and the TPCC has to go to Delhi for everything. Therefore, the people should deny them votes in the elections, he added.
“The Centre was remaining ignorant on our demand for Bayyaram Steel factory and we are ready to take its share and will lead the Singareni mining to set up on our own the Bayyaram Steel factory that will increase steel production and provide a lot of employment to the youth in Telangana”, he announced. He recalled that then chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy ridiculed the Telangana leaders saying they lack knowledge to rule and create panic and gloom will prevail if Telangana was accorded statehood, he said. “However, we have addressed the problem by an agreement with other States in power sector”, he added.
“The Congress was accustomed to take commissions, push corruption and encourage scams. There are no values in our political system of our country as top leaders like Modi belittled himself by lying that there is no power in Nizamabad. Though I challenged Modi to prove his charge and called for a debate, Modi ran away. The nation has no values in politics that was proved by none other than Modi and Amit Shah as also Rahul Gandhi, who are indulging in misinformation campaign in the State for the polls. I demand the BJP and Congress leaders to prove their allegations, which are baseless”, he said, adding that redesigning of projects was for getting more waters from the projects.
Wooing the people of tribal areas, KCR vowed to come up with facilities, connectivity, power supply and drinking waters. KCR promised to take initiative and provide reservations to the STs 12 per cent and resolve the lands in dispute near forest and those being cultivated by the tribal and make Mulugu a district by next January 26. He said that he started welfare schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and increased pensions by moving at the pathetic conditions of the people in villages. He appealed to the people to give at least one lakh votes majority in the elections to the TRS candidates including caretaker minister Chandulal and others. The TRS will retain power with huge majority and win 106 Assembly seats, he expressed hope.
