Ex-RAW woman official who bared herself normal: docs

New Delhi, February 28:A panel of doctors today told the Delhi High Court that a former RAW woman official, who had partially stripped inside the courtroom, was not suffering from any serious psychitraic ailments.

Nisha Priya Bhatia, during her stay at the Institute of Human Behaviours and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) here, showed normal behaviour and no evidence was found that she suffered from any serious mental problem.

The doctors, in the report, however, said she was suffering from “Litigious Paranoia”, a form of paranoia in which one is inclined to initiate lawsuits.

The persons, suffering from litigious paranoia, are advised not to marry and avoid paintings and drawings.

They also said it seemed that there was something wrong with her thought process as she was more inclined to negative thinking.

Justice Ajit Bharihoke also issued a notice to Bhatia for her appearance in the court on March 28.

Bhatia, in her 40s, who had also attempted suicide in front of the PMO two years back, had created a ruckus in the open courtroom after the hearing on her petition against some judicial officers was adjourned.

She stripped inside the courtroom, which prompted the judge to order her to be taken for a mental check-up. The doctors were also asked to file a report on her health.

Terming the act as “highly deplorable”, Justice Ajit Bharihoke had said that it gave an impression that she was not mentally sound.

The former official, who had once headed the training cell of the Research and Analysis Wing, filed a petition against the lower court judges alleging that they attempted to help Ashok Chaturvedi, her boss and former Secretary of RAW.

She had accused Chaturvedi of sexual harassment. She accused him of calling her into his office at odd times and passing lewd remarks, a charge denied by Chaturvedi.
