Charge sheet is fraudulent, says YSR’s party

YSR Congress party Saturday termed as “fraudulent” the charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an alleged illegal assets case against its leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

The party alleged that it was done in a hurry to prevent bail for Vijay Sai Reddy, and said it is exploring legal options to challenge the charge sheet.

“How can the CBI file a charge sheet when the investigation process is not complete. The Supreme Court has recently issued notices to the ministers, senior bureaucrats and CBI seeking explanation and even before giving a reply to the notice, the charge sheet is filed,” said the party’s political advisor, D. A. Somayajulu.

He asked when Jaganmohan Reddy, who is accused number one in the CBI FIR, was not questioned even once, how can the investigation process be complete.

He alleged the charge sheet was filed in a hurry as Vijaya Sai Reddy would be getting bail since he cannot be kept in jail for more than 90 days.

The Supreme Court recently issued notices to six ministers and eight Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers asking them why they should not be questioned with regard to 26 controversial government orders issued by YSR government to benefit certain companies which invested into Jagan’s firms.
