BSES consumers protest against ‘inflated bills’

New Delhi, October 22: A large number of consumers of Reliance Energy-backed BSES today staged a demonstration outside the discom’s head office here protesting against the “inflated electricity bills”.

Representatives of various Resident Welfare Associations (RWA) also participated in the demonstration, demanding immediate roll back of the “inflated bills”.

Delhi’s power regulator DERC has already slapped a show cause notice on the BSES after an independent enquiry found it guilty of issuing inflated bills to its consumers.

The DERC had formed the enquiry panel after it was found that nearly 70,000 BSES consumers received abnormally high bills for the months of June, July and August.

The RWAs have been demanding action against the company.
