Bonalu Fesatival at lal darwaza temple from july 15

The 104th Bonalu festival will be celebrated at the Simhavahini Sri Mahankali Devalayam, Lal Darwaza here on July 15 and 16.

According to Bonala Utsavala Committee chairman C. Bangla Raju Yadav, all arrangements have been made for the annual celebration. He said that on July 15, devotees would offer bonams to the goddess. On July 16, Bali Harana, Kalyanotsavam for world peace, chanting of Sai Lalitha Sahasranamam and Sapta Shakthi Parayanam will be held. Rangam will be performed at 4 pm on the same day. He also disclosed that every woman devotee visiting the temple would be presented a sari.

Yadav said that on July 13, Naivedyam with 56 kinds of sweets will be offered to the goddess. Advisor to State government on Cultural Affairs K V Ramanachary inaugurated a 15-day photo exhibition on 104 years’ old history of Bonalu festival at Salar Jung Museum on July 12 for the benefit of devotees. He also said that the APSRTC will be running special buses from various parts of the city to Lal Darwaza for the convenience of the devout public. (NSS)
