AGRA: Unidentified persons threw acid on more than a dozen cows and bulls in Agra’s Karmana village of Uttar Pradesh, leading to tension in the area.
“The district magistrate has sent a team of veterinary doctors, while an additional city magistrate and police force have been stationed in the area to ensure peace,” said a report in the Times of India.
Many cows are in critical condition after the inhumane acid attack. A team of veterinary doctors to inspect the affected cows and oxen and the bovine have been given medical aid.
Giving details of Tajganj Station House Officer Raja Singh said that police have filed an FIR under IPC’s Section 429 against unknown persons and stringent actions will be taken.
A local resident, Ankaj Yadav told ToI: “Only those cows and oxen who were abandoned for being unproductive have been attacked.”
This isn’t the first time, a similar incident had come to light from Bhopani village in Haryana’s Faridabad district, where the local villagers attacked the bovines to stop the animals from grazing their agricultural fields.
