Zarine Khan honoured by PETA for rescuing cat

New Delhi, May 09: Zarine Khan, who shot to fame as Salman Khan’s leading lady in her Bollywood debut ‘Veer’, has been conferred the ‘Hero to Animals’ Award by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for rescuing a cat.

The actress, who has a soft corner for animals, rescued the malnourished cat from the streets of Mumbai and rushed her to a veterinary hospital.

Not only did she pay regular visits to check on the cats’s progress, but she also walked barefoot to Mahim Dargah to pray for her recovery.

Now the cat has found a shelter in Zarine’s home, who has given her the name Softy.
