YS, BABU, ROSAIAH must behave in house: Kishen

Hyderabad, July 23 (NSS):- The Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, the Telugu Desam president, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, and the Finance Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah must change their behavior to run the House properly during the Budget session, the BJP floor leader in Assembly, Mr G Kishen Reddy, has said.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Mr Kishen Reddy thanked the Chief Minister for describing the Assembly as a temple and people as gods and his ‘determination’ to ensure discussion over the people’s burning problems in the House.

“But the Chief Minster, his party members, especially the Finance Minister, Mr K Rosaiah, and the Leader of the Opposition, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, should change their style of functioning in running the august House properly,” he added.

Stating that the time of the House is very precious, Mr Reddy said that the entire time should be utilised properly for discussing the people’s burning problems only. Both the Treasury and Opposition benches were wasting the precious time by resorting to personal attacks and wordy duels in the House. “The Chief Minister and the Finance Minister had even went to the extent of using vulgar language in the august House during in the last five years,” he bemoaned.

He said that his party would raise people’s issues like the truant monsoon and the need for formulating a contingent action plan, spiraling prices of essential commodities, polluted drinking water supply and water scarcity in the twin cities, acid attacks on the hapless girl students, undeclared power cuts, MMTS Phase II, KG basin gas State’s share and so on.

He pointed out that the biggest of all these key issues was the illegal construction of projects across the Krishna and Godavari rivers by the Maharashtra and Karnataka governments. The problems in Social Welfare hostels, attacks on Indian students abroad, increased quota of management seats in the professional colleges would also be raised in the House, he added.

Mr Reddy also stressed the need to narrow down regional differences in the allocation of budget for water.

Another party MLA from Nizamabad, Mr E Laxminarayana, who defeated the APCC president, Mr D Srinivas, was also present. (NSS)
