Youths cut off labourer’s tongue

Muzaffarnagar, November 24: Three youths allegedly cut off a labourer’s tongue after he refused to work for them in neigbouring Hardwar district, police said today.

The three youths had asked 26-year-old Ramu, a labourer from Raipur in Chhattisgarh working in the fields of a farmer named Brijvir, to work in their land at Narsamkala village under Manglore police station in Hardwar district yesterday.

When he refused, the youths beat him up and cut off his tongue with a sharp weapon, police said.

Ramu was later admitted to Muzaffarnagar hospital for treatment.
