Nagpur, August 23: The mother of seven-year-old Yogita Thakre, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s car on May 19, today lodged a complaint against unidentified persons alleging that they were threating her to withdraw the case, police said.
Vimal Thakre in her complaint said that some persons in police uniform had visited their house and even called on mobile and threatened her to withdraw the case.
Yogita had died of smothering in Gadkari’s car on May 19 while playing in “Gadkariwada”, residence of BJP leader in Mahal in eastern part of city.
Police had initially dismissed the death due to suffocation but postmortem confirmed that the girl was smothered to death.
Blood stains were also found on girl’s undergarments fuelling speculations of rape on her. However, detailed postmortem report did not confirm the abuse.
