Yadavas will create Rs 25,000-cr wealth in 2.5 years: CM

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today wooed the Yadavas by wearing traditional headgear, Gongadi and beating drums while launching Sheep Rearing scheme at Kondapaka in Gajwel segment. After three years, the Yadavas in Telangana will be noted as most wealthy community by creating about Rs 25,000 crore assets, he said, adding that they are indeed a great asset for the State.

KCR launched the prestigious “Sheep Rearing” scheme at Kondapaka under Gajwel segment in Siddipet district by distributing sheep units, related papers and insurance documents among 825 beneficiaries. “It is shame that we are importing about 1.5 crore sheep in 650 lorries in the State which has 35 lakh Yadava families. We will now overcome this problem as the sheep units being distributed will grow up to 7.5 lakh in two-and-a-half years in three deliveries. It will create Rs 25,000-crore wealth”, KCR said amid wild applause by the huge gathering. “That is what the wealth we are going to create in future. However, some “sheep” do not understand this logic”, he quipped.

The Chief Minister made a visit to stalls at the site and got photographs with some Yadavas and interacted with them. “Golla and Kuruma communities in Telangana are great wealth. We have started a big scheme by distributing about 1.5 crore sheep this time among 7.18 lakh of Yadavas out of 7.61 applications received. The prestigious Sheep scheme is worth of Rs 400 crore and will prove handy for the Yadavas to flourish”, KCR hoped. He said the scheme was simultaneously launched in 30 districts and 1500 sheep units with 75 per cent of subsidy were distributed by ministers, MLAs and Collectors.  This year the total number of beneficiaries that got sheep units are 3,60,098 and next year it will be 3,57,971. A total of 718069 people who are completed 18 years joined 7846 societies in 8710 village panchayats. We are pressing in 100 mobile veterinary vans to provide on the spot services to the cattle and the Yadavas can call 1962 phone to get this facility at the place of cattle grazing. The government will supply 4 tons of “Stylo Hemata” seeds in every district for growing grass and regular vaccination is helpful for keeping the cattle healthy.

Minister T Harish Rao said Kondapaka villagers are lucky for the Sheep scheme being launched. Rural development will help develop the State and the government was encouraging caste and community based professions to develop in a phased manner. With lakes restoration program, the villages got back the sheen of abundant water resources helping the farmers to find work. The Government will implement welfare schemes and development programs for rural development by providing better facilities of drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and empower rural people, he added.
