YoDee & FICCI FLO in association with Govt of Telangana, Dept of Transport organized an All Women’s Car Treasure Hunt on Friday.
Over 150 women and the new commercial badge ready lady drivers participated.
Transport Commissioner Sunil Sharma flagged it off at Muffkamjah College in Banjara Hills and ended at Hotel Westin at Madhapur. He emphasised the importance of empowering women, as it would positively impact the society positively.
YoDee, is a section 8 Not for Profit Company registered under the Indian Companies Act promoting the progress of women through social, economic and professional self-sufficiency. Set up with intent to empower women, from the weaker section of society and enabling them to be socially & economically independent by providing skills, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. The critical elements to the success of our various initiatives would be partnering with the Community, Govt., the Beneficiary and the end Customer. YoDeeaims to create various social impact initiatives / projects for the progress of women in India.
Women on wheels – WoW, an initiative of YoDee is a Fleet Service by women with women drivers bureau. The project empowers women to become professional 4 wheel vehicle drivers that enables them to secure prosperous livelihood with dignity.
Jyotsna Angara, Board Member said, ‘WOW’s philosophy emphasizes quality service, compassionate support to women drivers, timely and safe transport to passengers and reliable service to business houses’. She added, “We are happy to share that the Govt has agreed grant the trained women, vehicles under the Govt Grant for Women, who will soon start fleet service of pick up & drop of women employees, for IT Companies in Cyberabad zone”.
Pinky Singh, Founding Director said, ‘A critical element for the success of our various initiatives would be partnering the community and end customer. By tying long-term social and economic returns (societal impact) to charitable giving, YoDee aims to radically alter the way individuals and institutions think about their philanthropic capital’. She added that ‘the aim of this treasure hunt was to build awareness of the works being done by YoDee and FLO by skilling women to Cab Drivers and Women Safety in our City’.
