New Delhi, November 20: In an important development that can change the course of investigation in the Shopian rape and murder case, two primary witnesses have detracted from their statements.
Ghulam Mohi-ud-din and Abdul Rashid Pampori, both residents of Shopian had testified before the court that they had seen a vehicle belonging to security forces and had heard the screams of the women from inside the vehicle on the day the incident happened.
But now, both the witnesses have detracted from the statement saying that they did not see anything like that.
They allege they were intimidated and forced into saying all that by the members of the Shopian Bar Council.
After the said statement, at least four members of the Bar association including the president were quizzed late last night.
