Why TRS did not move ‘No Trust Motion’ against Modi Govt, Asks Uttam

Hyderabad: Strongly condemning Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for his silence over injustices being done to Telangana by the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy asked as to why TRS did not move a ‘No Confidence Motion’ against the Modi Government for its failure to fulfil the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

In an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Uttam Kumar Reddy asked as to why KCR himself was not speaking against the Modi Government for the failed promises. “KCR has been a staunch supporter of PM Modi since beginning. He was the first CM to support BJP Govt on demonitisation and GST. TRS MPs also voted for BJP candidates in the elections for President and Vice-President of India. KCR never bargained anything for Telangana while extending support to PM Modi on various issues. He maintained proximity with the BJP Govt while keeping the interest of Telangana at bay. During the first visit of PM Modi to Telangana, KCR only sought his love and not any sops for Telangana. Consequently, Telangana got nothing from the Centre and by not raising his voice, KCR got closer to PM Modi,” he alleged.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS has no moral ground to criticise the Congress party on the bifurcation issue. “Congress party not only granted statehood for Telangana, but also ensured that entire revenue of Hyderabad comes to Telangana State. Further, all the sops promised in the Act were made by the Congress-led UPA Government. But the present BJP Govt did not fulfil those promises and by remaining silent, TRS played a negative role in doing injustices with Telangana,” he said.

The TPCC Chief asked as to why KCR did not register his protest for Centre’s delay in starting Railway Coach Factory in Qazipet, Steel Plant at Bayyaram, non-sanction of funds for ITIR in Hyderabad or even merger of seven mandals of Khammam into Andhra Pradesh. “People are watching everything and they will teach TRS and KCR a fitting lesson in next elections,” he said.
