Hyderabad: Mr. KCR had made a promise that he would provide 12% reservation for Muslims within 4 months of his assuming charge as CM. Even after the lapse of 17 months, Govt. did not take any action in this regard. The Muslims are anxious to know the result of this promise. Siasat Urdu Daily has launched a movement to remind the Govt. to fulfill its promise for providing 12% reservations for Muslims. This movement is getting tremendous support in the districts of Telangana.
Weaker Committee Development Society of Telangana started a unique campaign to remind Mr. KCR about his election promise. President of this society, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Majeed, Advocate is distributing post cards outside the mosques on the occasions of Friday prayers with a request to send these cards to Mr. KCR. This campaign has recently been started. So far, more than 4500 post cards have been sent to CM’s office. This society is also demanding to give official status to Urdu language and also to link it with employment. On par with English and Telugu, question papers of Public Service Commission should be provided in Urdu also. It is also demanding to allot lands to Muslims. If 12% reservation is provided, many Muslims would get jobs and seats in professional institutions.
