Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy today said he has not received a report from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on the arrest of seven police personnel on March 11 for collecting bribes from the liquor syndicates to overlook the violations of the provisions of AP Excise Act.
Mr Reddy made these comments after a journalist at a press conference asked him on the action he was going to take against the erring policemen following their arrest.

‘When we get a report from the ACB in black and white it will be thorougly examined and analysed before taking necessary action.’ The police officials were charged with not taking action for violation of rules by the wine shops, such as sale of liquor over and above Maximum Retail Price (MRP), lose sale of liquor and opening of liquor shops beyond the prescribed timings among other things.
The police personnel were booked under Sections 7, 8, 12, 13 (1) (a) (d) r/w 13 (2) of P C Act, 1988 & Sec.
120-B, 109 r/w 34 of IPC for collecting bribes.
