Was Bulandshahr mob violence staged by BJP? Asks Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: Seeking to know whether the Bulandshahr mob violence was staged by BJP, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday re-tweeted a purported video on the Bulandshahr violence. The incident took the lives of a policeman and a bystander.

Arvind Kejriwal said incidents similar to what happened in Bulandshahr were happening across the country. He told this while responding to a question on the sidelines of an event at the Delhi Secretariat.

NDTV reported that referring to the video being circulated on social media, the chief minister said if the content of the video was true, it raised questions on whether the entire episode, including the killing of a cow and the police officer, was staged by the BJP.

Kejriwal alleged that BJP is depriving of the right to live, to whoever does not bow down to the goons of BJP, be it Hindus, Muslims, police or workers of the party itself. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanded that the Uttar Pradesh government give an ex gratia of Rs. 1 crore to the family of the slain police officer.

Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh claimed “UP is being ruled by the BJP goons. Subodh Singh was killed in a conspiracy.”

A mob fought pitched battles with police on Monday in Siana area of Bulandshahr district leaving Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and 20-year-old Sumit Kumar dead.
