Waqar to earn more than caoch Intikhab

Lahore, December 12: The newly-appointed bowling and fielding coach of the Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis will earn Rs 1,00,000 more than full-time coach Intikhab Alam. According to ‘The News’ Waqar will cost the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) up to Rs 6,00,000 per month.

The package prepared by the PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO), Wasim Bari, makes Waqar eligible to withdraw Rs 300,000 per month and could earn the same amount if his team does well which means good fielding and wickets will make him eligible to earn the same amount in the form of bonuses.The former right-arm pacer will also be entitled to collect a daily allowance of 114 dollar plus other allowances.

The Newspapaer further revealed that though the former skipper has been appointed only for the Australia series his contracts would be further extended if the team performs well.

”Intikhab is no longer in the good books of chairman Ijaz Butt who is possibly waiting for the completion of his tenure before appointing any other suitable candidate on the job.”Apart from Waqar, Javed Miandad and Rashid Latif are also flexing their muscles to become the full-time coach of the national team at the expiry of Intikhab’s tenure,” the newspaper stated.
