VSIT offers b.tech/mba seats without fee

Hyderabad, October 03: The Management of Vishnu Sree Institute of Technology ( affiliated to JNTU) has resolved to extend a Special Offer of granting admission in to B.Tech and MBA courses, free of cost without tuition fees, to the students falling under certain categories.

Though the students have expected fee reimbursement, the state government could not exercise their options during EAMCET counseling due to many technical and technical reasons.

Speaking to the media persons, Mr Hanumanth Rao, chairman, VSIT, said that as a gesture of social obligation, the management would extend the offer to the students of these categories: to the children of bereaved Soldiers of Indian Army/ Indian Air Force/ Indian Navy; Police Personnel who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of maintaining law and order; Working Journalists who deserves encouragement, and to the sons and daughters of Archaka Purohits serving in the temples who are poor. The offer would also be available to the children of Surabhi Artists, to the sons and daughters of bereaved families of weaver’s community in the state, and of poor artists of TV/ Movie Artists Association.

Mr Hanumanth Rao said that the management of VSIT has already addressed letters to the above organisations to sponsor the students before October 15, with their recommendations for awarding seats. He proposed to the government that a list encompassing all the colleges in and around the GHMC be prepared, so that it would be convenient to the students. He also suggested to the government to contemplate on reducing the stipulated percentage of marks from 50 to 45 to enable some 20,000 students to get in to the management quota, keeping in view the disturbances in the academic year due to agitations.
