VH wants CM to extend duration of BC Study Circles

Demanding that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao extend the time of staying of students in BC Study Circles for six more months, Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao alleged that the BC Study Circle was not providing quality coaching to the students and warned that he would create a scene in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting to be held at Gajwel on August 7 in case the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao failed to respond on the BC Study Circle issue.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday along with party leader Bollu Kishan, VH said it was sad that the State government appointed an upper caste person N V Reddy as the director of the BC Study Circle. Besides the Minister to the concerned department too was an upper caste person. “How the BC students would get justice in this regard”, he questioned.

Hanumanth Rao said the BC Study Circles were providing quality coaching in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala States and the results were good but in Telangana State the results were very poor. The director has no report on results of the BC Study Circle, he alleged. He asked the government to appoint quality faculty to expect good results from the students. He also demanded that the government increase the BC Study Circle duration up to two years for the students.

It may be recalled that the BC Study Circle students were on hunger strike demanding that the government extend their stay in the hostel for six more months. (NSS)
