State Government today informed to a division bench of the high court that it will take all steps to protect the interests of the farmers and farm workers for giving gave their lands for Mallanna Sagar project. In a petition the government urged the court to hold the previous order of quashing the GO 123 by a single judge as it prevented related works of the project.
Advocate General on behalf of the State Government said that every step to protect the interests of the farmers will be taken as per schedule 2. Rehabilitation and replacement works will be taken as per norms he informed to the court. Later, the court directed the government to submit an affidavit comprising the details of the land acquisition policy and guidelines of the GO and posted the next hearing to August 8 (NSS)
